Our leader, Tiago, knew the history and politics of the area. He also told us all about Carnival so we had a better understanding of what it was about when we saw a performance at the museum later. We were the only two on the ride which made it even better!

The guide was very nice. Need bathroom breaks, less stops. Also confusion between Viator app start time and tour company made us late. Tour longer than advertised.

Tiago was a SUPERB guide, and the route we were taken on was ideal. Information given was interesting, thorough and thought-provoking. My wife's and my only complaint would be the quality of bike that we were given to ride during the tour. The four other members of the tour group seemed to have no trouble with their newer bikes, but our cycles needed maintenance and perhaps a tune-up in comparison. Otherwise, this is an EXCELLENT bike tour which is FAR more reasonably priced, better designed and more personable than other cruise ship sponsored bike tours. HIGHLY recommend!!!

The adventure started well from the beginning and met with Yellow Penguin staff holding a sign just after the exit point from the Port terminal. There were two guides while biking, one in the front leading and one in the back making sure no one is left behind from the group. It was around 4 hours total. Someone mentioned it was 34 miles total. No bottled water was provided for the entire tour. Fortunately, I had a bottled water with me. The last leg of the tour from the Montevideo sign to return to the port was long and very tiring with no rest but one quick restroom break at a small cafe for one person who could not hold it anymore. It was very hot and I got sun-burned. Three of us were left behind by the group and my legs were hurting so much due to no rest that I had to ask the back guide for a few minutes break. The last 3 of us from the group finally made it back very very tired. It's quite an experience but I won't do this in Montevideo again.
