Motu Tiahura

Discover the 50 shades of blue. The public beach of Tiahura is on the edge of a beautiful park. At your disposal, parking and a place to picnic in the shade. Another ideal spot to enjoy the landscapes that French Polynesia has to offer.

Opunohu Bay is one of Moorea's main bays. It is a magnificent site that has served as a setting for many films such as Les Révoltés du Bounty. The bay pass is called “Tareu” which means “sheltered” because this harbor is deep and well protected from winds to anchor boats. Opunohu means “the belly of the stone fish”. Opunohu Bay is three kilometres long and 80 metres deep. On September 30, 1777, Discovery and Resolution, ships of the famous navigator Captain James Cook, entered Tareu Pass. He describes its anchorage as one of the best natural ports he has seen in the South Sea Islands. This magnificent bay is full of stories and legends to discover.

Allows you to see the whole island independently. And easy to stop for photos on the road. Extra Welcoming, wise advice before leaving. Good grip, very easy. I highly recommend it. The 8h day is more than enough to go around. Stop eating, make beach stops...

Most taxi drivers never heard of this place. Had trouble getting there, and found it was someone's house where they rented out a couple of scooters. The scooters were very uncomfortable after a short while. They also cannot go up any hills or dirt roads, so you won't get a "tour" of Moorea. And they didn't have any cargo boxes. They handed us a map that you could get at any tourist spot or restaurant that was almost useless.

This was an awesome experience! Riding around the Island on the bikes was loads of fun and offered a lot of freedom to go to restaurants and enjoy the whole island! Manuel (owner) is a great dude! Communicated very well and was a pleasure to work with?

An excellent tour, great way to discover the island. Just wish we had a bit more time and one of the six scooters didn't hold charge long enough. Still, an adventure worth pursuing.

A group of us on a recent Tahitian cruise rented these ‘scooters’ and overall we had a very good experience. The staff at Coco Rider was excellent – they answered all my questions very timely and met us as agreed at the Cooks Bay hotel with our riders. Manuel provided instructions and a map with suggested stops and we were off. The riders themselves are battery powered and while not very fast, did the trick. The only issue we had is one of our riders either wasn’t fully charged, the battery had an issue, or the tires may have been underinflated, as the rider almost run out of power on the ride. We had to cut short our excursion as a result. Overall I’d recommend the company and the experience.

A fantastic way to see Moorea from the land and experience the beautiful beaches located all around the island. The Scooter was in good condition and easy to operate and conveniently located at the hotel. The drivers in Moorea are very considerate of scooters and safe to drive around. Easy to access all the beaches and stops along the way. Highly recommend it !
