If you are looking for a guided experience of the Marlborough Wine region but also want to do a bit of exploring on your own then our half and half biking wine tour is the tour for you!
Spend a morning on our half day guided biking wine tour. Your knowledgeable and experienced guide will talk to you about the history of the area, its wines and the stories of its people. You will visit three wineries in the morning and then you are free to go at it alone for the afternoon with your bike, a wine map and some helpful pointers from the guide on where to visit.
Peddle along flat, easy terrain that is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. All morning winery tasting fees included (3).
Complementary pickup and drop-off from Blenheim and Renwick accodmation. Up to 8 people per guided tour.
E-bikes (electric bikes) are avalible as an upgrade option.

Minimum drinking age is 18 years - not suitable for persons under 18 years of age.
If it rains on the day of the tour we will switch to a driving wine tour for the morning at no extra cost and the arrangements for the afternoon biking will be discussed on the day.

What To Expect
Explore Marlborough Wine Tours
Having been picked up from your accommodation you will be taken to Explore Marlborough's base at the Vines Village where you will be set up on your bike, given a helmet and a hi-viz vest. The Vines Village has restrooms, a cafe and a cellar door.

5.00It was a fantastic experience! We had doubts about whether we would be able to receive the bikes on time due to the ferry's docking time. Here we were great advised and supported via WhatsApp. Picking up also went smoothly and the advice of the staff was extremely courteous!

5.00Our guide Anne was really nice and friendly, and made us have a great time. She was very careful about our safety, especially when crossing roads. We stopped (among others) at the Framingham and White Heaven estate, and their wines were fabulous!! We had visited 3 estates in the morning, and in the end it was enough to discover the region and taste the wines.

5.00It was an amazing day of riding through the vineyards! Graeme was a great guide, very relaxed and informative. They retrieved our purchased wine at end of day so we didn’t have to carry in our baskets. The winery personnel was so welcoming and informative giving us a history lesson as well as the description of their processes. Could. To have been a better day! Have lunch at St. Clair’s!

5.00Cycling around Marlborough is definitely the way to explore the wineries in the region. The service provided by Explore Marlborough Wine Tours is excellent, we had a pick up from our hotel from our lovely guide James. We were taken to 3 wineries during the course of our morning, where we enjoyed a variety of exceptional wines and excellent scenery on the way. The bikes were comfortable, easy to ride and in very good condition. We felt safe at all times and even when it unexpectedly poured with rain in the afternoon, the office gave us some ponchos to keep us (sort of) dry as we continued to our lunch stop (recommended by EMWT) and final winery. A brilliant day.
Wine not, do cycling wine tour, great experience would highly recommend!

5.00Loved every moment, smooth pic up from oir acommodation and our guide Roo was fantastic, we really enjoyed his company and he was very knowledgeable. Did 3 guided stops, gorgeous wine and met great ladies at each winery who educated us on the vineyard story and wine and made us feel very welcome, comfortable and relaxed. Laid back atmosphere in each vineyeard. Then we had about 3 hours self guided tour and Roo gave us some great tips and a map so we felt very comfortable doing the second half of the day on our own. Couldn't fault it, would recommend as a must do when visiting south island and would tell everyone to do it with Explore Marlborough wine tours!

5.00Had a fabulous day exploring the wines of Marlborough by bike .. We were well looked after by our guide and by staff at each of the cellar doors. Cycling along quite roads and tracks between the vineyards is a great way to soak up the atmosphere of Marlborough
