This tour was one of the highlights of our study trip to Nepal. I was traveling with my students, and as someone who truly loves meeting people and learning directly from local communities, this experience meant a lot to me. Starting the day around 5:30 AM to attend the monastery prayers was incredibly special. Sitting in the monastery and listening to the monks chanting while traditional instruments played created such a peaceful and powerful atmosphere. Our guide Thupten was absolutely fantastic—extremely knowledgeable, open, and patient with all of our questions. Traveling with students means there are always many curious minds, and the guide took time to explain everything in a thoughtful and engaging way. Through the tour, we gained a much deeper understanding of the unique and often difficult situation of Tibetan refugees, but also of how they have managed to preserve their culture, language, and traditions with such strength and dignity. One of my favorite parts was meeting a monk. It created a wonderful dialogue and gave all of us a much more personal understanding of Buddhist life and philosophy. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a genuine cultural experience and the chance to connect with people in a meaningful way.

Truly loved this day tour! Thupten, the guide, was not just informative but very passionate about sharing his culture. I learned a lot about the Tibetan’s history in Nepal, Tibetan Buddhism, and daily life there. The monasteries were beautiful. Overall I was very moved by my visit here and feel inspired to learn more about Tibet. I highly recommend this tour!!

I did the half-day tour. It was an excellent visit with a guide who explained very well what Tibetan culture is and represents. The discovery of two monasteries, one with morning prayer, the opportunity to exchange with a Tibetan monk and the typical Tibetan breakfast, were enriching moments of immersion. I recommend.

I did the morning half-day cultural tour and it was an incredible experience. Thupten is kind, thoughtful, and has a wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend booking this tour if you want an authentic experience and a unique opportunity to learn about Tibetan culture in Nepal and South Asia. My only regret is that I didn’t have enough time to do a longer tour.

The experience with Thupten was fantastic. As planned, we started in the morning at the Tibetan village and then ended up in another Buddhist monastery. Thupten’s passion and transport in telling his culture accompanied us from beginning to end, from the traditional breakfast in a village house to the meeting with the young monk of the monastery, with whom it was a real pleasure to converse. There remains the desire to learn more about Tibetan culture and Buddhism. Experience absolutely recommended!

Definitely reccomend! This your was a great experience and introduction to Tibetan history and culture, as well as buddhism. We did a half day tour but a full day tour would also be worth it I think. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to speak with a monk!

The experience is very positive. Through narration of Tibetan history and culture, visit of monasteries, direct confrontation with the people who are part of it seems to connect with those places and worlds different from yours. I'd do it again!
