9am daily your cruise departs Strahan Your first point of interest is Hells Gates, the narrow-channel entrance from the wild Southern Ocean to Macquarie Harbour. Continue along the harbour to see aquaculture pens stocked with thousands of ocean trout and Atlantic salmon. Your first stop off the boat is Sarah Island, a one hour guided tour on the island conveys a keen appreciation of the harsh conditions at what was Tasmania's first and perhaps most notorious penal settlement. Step back on-board and while enjoying your lunch you will cruise slowly along the majestic Gordon River and rediscover serenity while gliding deep into the ancient rainforest. Disembark at Heritage Landing for a stroll along the boardwalk through the Unesco listed Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park and see the hushed, lichen-covered rainforest and one of its oldest inhabitants a 2000-year-old Huon Pine tree. Board once more and sit back and relax while you make your journey back to Strahan.

Excellent value! A beautiful, clean, modern catamaran with all the amenities and gracious staff who went out of their way to ensure you had a good time. Fabulous lunch served at your assigned seat. You could go anywhere on the boat including the bridge and great commentary from the captain or pre-recorded stories that were informative and interesting. Weather was calm enough for us to go through Hells' Gate and into the Southern Ocean. The captain was as excited as we were because weather doesn't always cooperate so we spent a little extra time in the ocean. Such a treat!

Amazing experience. Staff were lovely, the guide who did our Sarah Island tour was really interesting and knowledgeable. The lunch provided was more than we expected and was very nice. The cruise down the Gordon River was so relaxing and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Highly recommended

Very impressive vessel (Riley says it is a tub!). Enjoyed getting off the boat at Sarah Island historic penal settlement and the Heritage Landing to learn about the local forest trees. Guides were very interesting and knowledgeable. Great staff.

Outstanding visit. Despite the rain we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on this trip. Excellent tour of Sarah island from the Round Earth company. A comfortable boat. Interesting commentary. The lunch bento boxes were delicious (appreciated that they were healthy and they catered to dietary needs of my husband). The short tour in the Rainforest itself was very engaging. We felt looked after and the passion everyone feels for the National Park, the stories they shared and their company was palpable. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip the weather was probably the worst it could get but we felt very safe at all times. The staff were exceptional couldn’t do enough to please us and the food was good. The addition of wine with lunch was appreciated too good quality Tassie wine(we are from Tasmania) The coffee was also great! Looking at Sarah Island was amazing we didn’t realise what the convicts had to go through also the walk in the rainforest was lovely Strongly recommend the cruise to anyone interested in the Wild West

Great experience for a family of five with primary aged kids. Kids enjoyed the kids meal for lunch and I had emailed company prior to cruise to check we could bring our own snacks on board. Very quick response and it was no trouble to BYO snacks so kids had morning tea. Kids enjoyed the stops along the cruise and the ability to be able to roam with an adult and favourite part was being able to chat and sit with the captain. Everything flowed easy and made it all a great experience. Helpful and cheerful staff onboard too.
