What To Expect

Mt. Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station

Located about 2,300 meters above sea level, Mt. Fuji’s Subaru Line 5th Station is the highest point reachable by car and one of the most popular viewing areas on the mountain. From here, you can see Mt. Fuji’s peak up close and enjoy panoramic views of the Fuji Five Lakes area and surrounding landscapes. The 5th Station is also the starting point for the Yoshida Trail, but even if you’re not climbing, it’s a great place to experience the mountain’s atmosphere. You’ll find small shops, restaurants, and the historic Komitake Shrine, offering a nice balance of nature and local culture. Access is via the Fuji Subaru Line, a scenic toll road through the forest (the toll fee is included in your tour). Depending on weather or season, private vehicles may be restricted, in which case shuttle buses are used. Either way, it’s an easy and enjoyable way to get close to Japan’s most iconic mountain.

Arakurayama Sengen Park

Arakurayama Sengen Park is a beautiful park known for its stunning views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area. The park is home to the famous Chureito Pagoda, a five-story pagoda that offers one of the most iconic photo opportunities of the mountain. To reach the pagoda, visitors climb 398 steps, which lead to panoramic views of Fuji Five Lakes, the surrounding mountains, and the town below. The park’s well-maintained paths, seasonal gardens, and scenic overlooks provide plenty of opportunities for walking, photography, and enjoying the outdoors. Arakurayama Sengen Park is ideal for travelers who want to combine nature and classic Japanese scenery with Mt. Fuji photography in one stop.

I wanted to be careful with any tour because I was accompanying my parents who are in the 80s. And I knew right away that we would be in good hands when Lucas started communicating shorty after making the booking. Based on the details about my parents, he immediately customized the itinerary and timing knowing that they’ll be slower and less able to walk long distances. He arrived on-time and was extremely pleasant from the start until the very end. He was extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited, all of which had unique and unforgettable views of Mt Fuji. My mom is the one who has more mobility challenges and he stayed behind and kept her company so that my dad and I could explore further. My mom really enjoyed learning about Lucas’ life and he shared so much about the Japanese culture that we might have been too shy to ask. I highly recommend Lucas and his customizable tour for anyone wanting to get the best sights of Mt Fuji and is looking for someone who has a kind and naturally warm personality. I had an amazing tour with Lucus! He drove me to Fuji-san and made the entire trip smooth and enjoyable. The itinerary was well-designed, allowing me to see many beautiful spots without feeling rushed. Lucus is also very knowledgeable—he explained the history and local culture in a way that was easy to understand and truly added depth to the experience. I absolutely enjoyed this tour and will definitely book with Lucus again. Highly recommended! 🌟

We were picked up at our Yokohama hotel by Lucas who came prepared with snacks and drinks for our day. Thankful for his English speaking skills as no-one in our party spoke Japanese, we enjoyed the ride and conversation with him as he shared his knowledge about the area and history. We made several stops at points of interest and we were able to take photos and shop for souvenirs. Lucas had an excellent recommendation for lunch and handled procuring a table for us as well as making sure we were good with the menu. We explored the area around Mt Fuji and the 5 Lakes. Lucas allowed us to set our pace and decide what kind of day we wanted to have. I highly recommend this tour, we were 100% satisfied.
