On the Volcano Caldera Trek you get to hike up every tier of the volcanic cone and you are almost guaranteed to get a bit dirty as you hike, explore, climb and pull yourself to the Caldera of mount Liamuiga. This trek starts at 750ft above the Caribbean Sea and has the perfect back drop with an amazing view of the sweeping landscape down to the Caribbean Sea. The memorable thing with this tour is that you will actually witness the changes in the tropical succession stages as you ascend higher and higher towards the caldera. You will feel the temperature drop, you will see the changes in vegetation, and you will experience the increasing incline as you get closer and closer to the caldera. It is truly a once in a live time trek to experience and once at the top your breath will be taken away by the stunning view while you stand 2800ft above the Caribbean Sea and 600ft above the bottom of the volcanic crater with a rim opening to almost one mile away.

We had a wonderful hike up the volcano. It was very challenging but Paul was an expert and patient guide. He was a wealth of knowledge on the flora and fauna. We saw monkeys! Amazing vegetation! So dense. It was a very difficult hike up and back. Nearly every foot plant you had to be careful. The short rainfall made it even more exciting on the slippery rocks and roots. I have never hiked on such terrain. But to reach the top was amazing! So glad the clouds cleared. Breathtaking views. Paul was wonderful. And even the ride up and back by the Rogers brothers was fun. Gorgeous sea views to the hike. Would highly recommend but you do need to be fit.

This volcano hike was the highlight of our time in St. Kitts. The trail takes you through lush rainforest and cooler, misty sections as you climb, and the scenery keeps getting better the higher you go. The best part was our guide. He was excellent: kept us safe, set a pace that worked, and shared genuinely interesting information about the island and the landscape without overdoing it. The hike is definitely a workout, but it’s well worth it for the payoff at the top. Also appreciated the little touches (water and a quick snack break) that made the day feel organized and taken care of. If you’re on the fence, book it. Just wear proper shoes

Team of three guides were prompt, professional and patient with slower hikers. Cruise ship friendly pick up and timing. Almost 7 miles in total, a bit over 2000 ft of climbing. Significant scrambling over roots and rocks, especially the top half. Wear good footwear as the trail can be muddy.

What a hike! This was our second time up the volcano. You will learn a lot about your environment and yourself as you make your trek to the top. Shamika and her team do an amazing job of making this experience enjoyable and enlightening. I recommend this adventure if you’re fit, willing to get a little dirty, and a lot sweaty!

The hike can be demanding if you don’t hike at all. It’s a fun trial for us and we enjoyed it very much. The nature is beautiful and our guide Paul’s energy is amazing!

Great hike with Paul. He was extremely knowledgeable about the rainforest and just a nice guy. The trail is a little primitive, but we had it to ourselves.

Rashidi and Bobby were absolutely fantastic! Although the trek was challenging, Bobby made sure we had fun, and gave LOTS of encouragement to get all the way to the top! We appreciated the tid bits of history along the way, as well as the refreshments as we took in the breathtaking view!

Did this excursion on my recent cruise to St Kitts. The description read “a strenuous hike” and they were not kidding. I am an active hiker and this one was challenging even for me. There were some people in our group that had to go back down during various points in the hike as they could not complete it. Upon arriving at the top the view is beautiful but very limited/small. I really wish they would clear out some more trees to allow better viewing. If you’re wanting beautiful views Timothy hill is a better view with no hiking. Our guides were wonderful and encouraged people along the way to continue to the top. Bobby was our guide and a very nice person. All in all I’m glad I did the hike but would not do it again simply because of how limited the views at the top are.

Great tour company. We were here with a cruise in April 2025. Bobby was our guide. Great experience and very high energy! Now…. This was the single most challenging cruise excursion we have ever done. Wasn’t a problem for us but others in the group struggled / turned back early. Please make sure you are in shape and up for six miles and 2000+ feet in elevation. There is a good possibility the trail will be muddy. Great hike! ~ pops and crew!
