What To Expect
Mt. Marathon
Your guide will take you up the Mount Marathon Jeep Trail to arrive into the Bowl. After taking in some time being immersed in the surrounding summits and beautiful greenery, keep hiking along the skyline ridge trail to reach the summit of the famous Mount Marathon Race Trail. Watch runners cruise down the shale and gain new vantage points of Seward, Resurrection Bay, and the nearby mountaintops.

5.00Our experience with Seward Guided Hikes was exemplar from beginning to end! While my wife and I are both runners/hikers, we had never been to Alaska AND my wife was still recovering from a total knee replacement a month before. A little nervous, we reached out to the company and Dylan called back within 24 hours with very helpful information and guidance. We loved the beautiful and informative website and scheduling was very easy. We ended up taking the hike to the bowl of Mt. Marathon and enjoyed every minute of our time with Dylan. As a true local, he provided wonderful insight and perspectives on Seward history, culture and current events. He provided phenomenal restaurant and local attraction recommendations. His authentic connection to place is very special - elevating our hiking experience beyond even the gorgeous scenery and invigorating climbs. It took a long time for my wife and her rehabbing knee to go back down the trail, but Dylan was very patient. It is obvious he is comfortable dealing with hikers of all abilities and backgrounds and can accommodate and adapt as needed. Finally, as a trail runner, I was very interested in the local history of the famous Mt Marathon Race and Dylan did not disappoint with great stories that only a local would know. If you are looking for a true Alaska hiking experience, look no further than Dylan and Seward Guided Hikes. It was one of the highlights of our visit!

5.00I can’t recommend booking with Seward Guided Hikes highly enough! The highlight of my week long trip to Alaska was my hike with Dylan! From the booking process to the day of the hike it was a truly wonderful experience. Dylan provides excellent customer service and has great communication skills. He responded to any inquiries I had leading up the hike super fast. On the day of the hike he provided everything we needed and clearly set my expectations for the trail conditions and difficulty of the hike. Dylan is an expert hiker so anyone from beginners to seasoned veterans will be in great hands on a trip with him. He is a lifelong local of Seward so has tremendous knowledge of the surrounding area and was happy to give me some awesome recommendations on shopping and dining. Overall Dylan is a fantastic small business owner and just a great guy and I really enjoyed his company. Thank you Dylan for an amazing experience! Seward Guided Hikes is without question a 10/10!!
