The Great Ocean Road - day 1 Discover some of the world’s most inspiring scenery, an ever-changing hinterland and charming towns and hamlets. Marvel at the huge cliffs, roaring seas, tranquil coves, magnificent waterfalls and secluded beaches.Get an insight into Australian surfing culture at Bells Beach, with rugged cliffs and big waves. Discover seaside villages such as the popular town of Lorne, where you can stroll on the stunning beach. As you continue driving you may see koalas in the wild at Kennett River. Head inland through the towering forests towards Port Campbell National Park to view the sculptured beauty of The Twelve Apostles. Many of these stacks of flat-bedded limestone raise 65 metres above sea level and are an inspiring sight to see. Visit Loch Ard Gorge and hear stories from your host about the tragic and romantic shipwreck whilst marvelling at the landmark. Return inland to Melbourne. Phillip Island Penguin Parade - day 2 Every evening at sunset the Little Penguins come out of the surf and return to Summerland Beach. They waddle up to their burrows, just as their ancestors have done for thousands of generations. They meander straight past eager visitors who wait in anticipation for the night’s performance. During your tour, you will also get up close to Australia’s most iconic of marsupials at the Koala Conservation Centre. Exploring the tree-top boardwalks at the centre you will see Koalas up close in the natural habitat. Wander the extensive trails through Australian bushland, home to many animals including wallabies, echidnas and bats. Acquaint yourself with the wonders of the southern waters while you meander along the coastal boardwalks and catch a glimpse of the world’s second largest Australian Fur Seal Colony at Seal Rocks through the interactive cameras at the Nobbies Centre. Philip Island is one of the most popular places to see around Melbourne - loved by locals and international visitors alike.

Jamie at Melbourne Private Tours arranged an amazing Tour of the 12 Apostles + a helicopter flight at really short notice. Jamie was so friendly and a pleasure to deal with,. The Tour Host on the day who also lovely and managed to settle some nerves of a few who were a little anxious about the helicopter ride! The food and service was great, we would definitely use MPT again.
