5.00Ryu was a great tour guide. He exceeded our expectations, took us to places outside of what we originally purchased (offered an alternative) which was the best option. He is friendly, smart, and very knowledgeable when it comes to the history of Japan. Book him!

5.00Ryu is very knowledgeable of Japan and the history of the country. He confirmed our pick up time the day prior to our tour and was punctual on the day of the tour. The vehicle was clean and quite accommodating. Ryu explained every stop in detail and offered suggestions to make our day even more memorable and enjoyable. He kept us informed each time we were approaching a stop. He is very courteous and professional. I highly recommend Ryu and we will definitely look him up on our next visit to Japan. 5.00I found this tour on TripAdvisor and I was interested in a private experience and chose this tour based on previous reviews. My partner and I were picked up at our hotel by Ryu bright and early to beat traffic heading out of Tokyo. The car ride was very comfortable, and the experience was spectacular. We visited several locations, including the Chureito Pagoda, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine, and Oshino Hakkai. The village was stunning and Ryu introduced to local vendors. We also visited the 5th station on Mt. Fuji. Ryu was warm and welcoming, and provided so much information about each site we visited. He took so many lovely photos of us as well, which was greatly appreciated. We ended our trip taking the bullet train back to Tokyo which was a wonderful. I would 100% recommend this tour, and my partner and I would gladly book with Xplor Japan again and if we were able to see Ryu again that would be wonderful! Thank you for everything.

5.00If you do this tour, you have to have Ryu! He is professional, funny, accommodating and 100% knowledgeable about all things Japan. Our group didn’t necessarily have a plan when Ryu picked us up from our hotel but that did not matter as Ryu gave us a ton of options for the day. We were so impressed with his knowledge of the area we toured and he introduced us to new sites and a lot of fantastic ice cream! We booked this trip the day before so we were so happy we were actually able to see outside of Tokyo on a day off from our work trip. The bullet train was a fairly short ride, but well worth the experience. If you have the chance to book this specific trip, do it and try to request Ryu!

Ryu was knowledgeable and made sure we enjoyed every stop. We enjoyed amazing views of Mt Fuji at Chureito Pagoda, tasted authentic local delicacies (which the teens loved) from Oshino Hakkai, visited historical and natural heritage sites, enjoyed a scenic ride on the Hakone Ropeway and Lake Ashi pirate ship and finished with a seamless Bullet train experience back to Tokyo. This private tour gave us the perfect balance of culture, nature, and comfort. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and stress-free adventure in Japan!
