Conquering Mount Toubkal in 2 Days requires determination and a challenging mountain climb, but it is one of the most rewarding trekking adventures in Morocco. Located in the spectacular Atlas Mountains, Mount Toubkal rises to 4,167 meters, making Mount Toubkal the highest peak in North Africa. Because of its accessibility and breathtaking scenery, Mount Toubkal in 2 Days has become one of the most popular trekking experiences in the country.
The biggest challenge of climbing Mount Toubkal in 2 Days is the high altitude and the steep ascent near the summit of Mount Toubkal. However, experienced hikers attempting Mount Toubkal in 2 Days usually have no difficulty following the clearly marked paths to the top. In good weather, the summit of Mount Toubkal offers spectacular panoramic views across the entire High Atlas range.

We booked a three day trek online. Straight away Hassan was helpful via email and whatsapp, answering all of our questions ahead of the tour. The transfer from Marakkech was easy and Hassan was immediately welcoming when we met him. Hassan was an unbeatable guide - knowledgeable, friendly, great English, and very easy to get on with. He got involved with our joking and conversations which meant it felt more like having an addition to the group rather than a guide. The route was perfect and he was very accommodating when one member of the group was ill. The lunch stops and overnight accommodation were stunning and we were served delicious traditional food and tea regularly. He helped us arrange a transfer straight to Essaouira also, rather than going via Marakkech. I'd highly recommend a trek with Hassan to anyone visiting Morocco.

Hassan will share his joy and love of his region of Imlil. From the foot of the waterfalls through the old Berber village and these endless alleys he knows how to convince you to come back to the area. Really I recommend this guide which is in all discretion and kindness for the older ones. Really Hassan you are the King of Imlil:)

I came to Morocco with an intention to do nothing but sit in the sun from morning to evening but after seeing the pictures and reviews of the Atlas Mountains I decided I wouldn't miss the opportunity while so close. What a trip! We travelled using click excursions who are absolutely fantastic (I highly recommend their services). When we arrived at the mountains we were greeted by Hussain, a local Berber man who spoke good English. He was very much a local... as we hiked up the mountain side he suddenly stopped and pointed out his house which was approximately 1000m above sea level carved into the rocks. What a beautiful experience. He knew the area very well (obviously) and gave us so much information about the villages and lifestyles of the Berbers. He's also quite the photographer and told us where to stop to get the best pictures and panoramas. The views are quite literally breathtaking (aided by the hike up + my fitness being moderate at best).. I'm not one to live life behind a lens or smartphone camera but I must admit I stopped several times to take a quick snap. We stopped in the Toubkal Kasbah for an amazing cooked lunch of bread starters, lamb tagine for mains, couscous for second mains, followed by a lovely Moroccan tea and some cold refreshing fruit, (the portions here are huge and I felt as though I wouldn't need to eat another week). Hussain then left shortly after a few more pictures together and our driver then met us for the return journey. If your in Morocco, this is a must visit. There's hardly any tourists and the area is largely untouched by modern civilization so if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, you must visit the Atlas. I will definitely return for a climb to the top.

Our first taste of Morocco was such a delight! We were picked up by a very pleasant driver from the airport who took us to Hassan’s guesthouse in Imlil, where we were warmly welcomed. His wife’s delicious cooking and Hassan’s kind advice set us up perfectly for a tough trek up Toubkal. The guesthouse was beautiful with an open terrace to view the stunning Moroccan night sky and a cosy living room, the bedroom also exceeded our expectations! Our fabulous guide Abdul took us up the mountain, he was so kind and reassuring not to mention a really amazing cook. He catered to our vegetarian needs and, despite fasting for ramadan, was nothing but positive and helpful. He provided us with interesting and in-depth knowledge of the valleys and mountain, as well as encouraging us all the way. We reached the base camp late afternoon on the first day, having stopped for lunch in a village half way, and soon relaxed with other hikers. We had a filling dinner altogether and got an early night. We had prepared for little sleep that night as the dorms were large and busy but adrenaline kept us going as we left for the summit at 4am. The summit was breathtaking and really worth the hard climb that morning. We descended the mountain back to Imlil that same day and were welcomed back to Hassan’s house with more delicious food and a restful night. We will definitely be recommending Hassan and Abdul to our friends and family, and hope to return in the future.
