The guide and tour were excellent. They had all the gear we needed and a very picturesque route to hike through. I would definitely recommend this tour. Unfortunately, due to avalanche threat we couldn’t visit the temple.

Kouhei Nishida's Shinano Discovery snowshoeing tour was truly exceptional. His expertise and passion for the outdoors made for an unforgettable day in the snow. His knowledge of the area and infectious enthusiasm created a safe and enriching experience. From the pristine landscapes to Kouhei Nishida's attention to detail, every aspect of the tour exceeded expectations. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore Nagano's winter wonderland. This was one of this highlights of our trip and should we return we will be seeking out Shinano Discovery to do an e-bike tour!

Our tour guide, Kouhei, was wonderful. He spoke great English, was kind, thoughtful and full of interesting information. He brought hot drinks and snacks for us during the trip and then we all went to a beautiful soba noodle house afterwards for lunch, with beautiful views of the park. During the hike, she showed us bear claw marks on trees indicating where bears had climbed up to get berries, bear benches and lots of other interesting natural finds.

As a person coming from a country without snow, this tour was the best way to experience the beauty of winter. The sceneries of the forest, mountains and the frozen lake was an amazing thing to see. Nishida-san was an excellent guide giving various interesting information about surrounding nature and wildlife. He was very nice and hospitable. We went together with a Japanese couple and they were very nice and friendly to us as well. Overall, it was a very memorable experience for us and I highly recommend this tour for those who love nature.
