What To Expect
A snowshoeing tour in the beautiful beech forest of Myoko Togakushi renzan National Park, one of Japan's deepest snowfall areas. Also we are going to walk on a frozen lake! With the latest MSR snowshoe and pole rental included. A snowshoe tour in the beautiful beech forest of the Myoko-Togakure Mountains National Park, one of the most heavy snowfall areas in Japan. The approach to the inner shrine of Togakushi Shrine, which is covered with snow, is a masterpiece of 400-year-old cedar trees covered in snow. Observe animal footprints in the tranquil woods, meet giant trees in places that can only be reached during the snowy season, and guides make tables out of the snow and make delicious coffee. You can even walk on a frozen lake! Includes the latest MSR snowshoes and pole rentals.

5.00Our entire family went snowshoeing with our guide Kouhei. It was a very enjoyable and informative tour. Kohei is a true gentleman and very knowledgeable guide. The experience was relaxed and fun even though there was a bit of walking involved. Lake Kagami was an absolute highlight and we were very fortunate to a have perfect weather. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who would like to explore Togakushi and experience something different to what the typical tourist route reveals.

The scenery is so beautiful and Kouhei is the quintessential professional guide. His knowledge of the areas flora and fauna, it's history, it's folklore demonstrates how truly connected he is to this land. For us tourists who spend so much time pounding the pavements of Japan's major cities, this is the Shinrin-yoku reset you need to have. Thank you Kouhei🙏

5.00Our tour guide, Kouhei, was wonderful. He spoke great English, was kind, thoughtful and full of interesting information. He brought hot drinks and snacks for us during the trip and then we all went to a beautiful soba noodle house afterwards for lunch, with beautiful views of the park. During the hike, she showed us bear claw marks on trees indicating where bears had climbed up to get berries, bear benches and lots of other interesting natural finds.
What a wonderful and unforgettable experience!
