On a clear day, the snowy peaks can be visible around the crest. The Tamang Village as per its name is filled with the Tamang community that is particularly known to be kind and warm to outsiders. Generally their three stories thatched houses are built by their local craftsmen. Local wine making is also a common practice in the area. The initial part of the hike encounters with the cultural aspect while the second half is all about natural beauty and tranquility. Since Changunarayan is located at a height, the views of the valley far down below can be witnesses along with the hills and mountain ranges up above.

5.00I was picked up at 4:45 a.m. from my hotel in Thamel by my guide Ghan in a private vehicle and driver. About an hour later we arrived in Nagarkot. After the sunrise at the View Tower, we drove to a Nepalese restaurant in Nagarkot, where we had breakfast (noodle soup) and from there the hike to Changu Narayan started. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we couldn't see much of the sunset, but the subsequent hike was very beautiful and went through various villages and forests. Ghan was very informative and explained a lot. It was clear that my well-being and pleasure was important to him. We were back at my hotel in Thamel around 12:00 p.m. It was a great experience, even though we didn't see the sunrise.

5.00This tour was a great way to spend a day outside the city. Ghan, our guide, was super fun and a great guy to spend time with. After an amazing sunrise looking at the Himalayas and a very good breakfast in a local restaurant, we went hiking for about 3:30h, where we had great views of the mountains and the valley. It was also a nice opportunity to see how is life in Nepal outside the city. Despite not being professional hikkers, we didn’t have any problem to complete the long walk. Would definitely recommend this tour!

5.00Had a great time on the day hike. The sunrise was really enjoyable to watch with great views of the distant surrounding mountains with some awesome photo opportunities. Day hike wasn't too hard by any means and just really refreshing and a fantastic opportunity to see the local countryside. Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and just all around good company. I'd highly recommend it!

5.00Fantastic trip, Ghan was really helpful and informative. The first half is downhill through villages and a temple. The trek then goes slightly Uphill, but is not too challenging. Breakfast was also tasty. Highly recommended!
