We had a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our day began with a scenic two-mile hike through a stunning national park, where our absolutely fabulous guide, Mary, introduced us to the local flora and fauna with so much passion and knowledge. At the midpoint, she amazed us by unpacking a 20–30 lb backpack filled with everything needed to create an incredible lunch—delicious salmon soup, fresh bread, blueberry juice, and warm cinnamon rolls. She even thoughtfully brought a vegan option for my friend, which we really appreciated. After the hike back, we experienced a traditional, rustic Finnish sauna. After just a few minutes in the heat, we made our way into the cold lake. I was extremely nervous and didn’t think I could do it—but I trusted the process, took the plunge, and felt so proud and exhilarated afterward. We repeated the cycle four times, and each round left me feeling more refreshed, energized, and alive. The experience ended with a relaxing 30-minute return to Helsinki. Thank you, Mary, for such a memorable and special day—we had an absolutely fantastic time.

I wholeheartedly recommend Taiga Times to anyone who prefers smaller groups and exclusive experiences. Our hike and sauna trip was very well planned and it didn't feel "touristy" at all. Excellent guides who truly love what they are doing.

I found Taiga Times while searching for small group nature tours. Had it not been for this operator, my trip wouldn't have been so beautiful. I did two tours and was deeply satisfied. Everything was professional and not touristy. Highly recommended for nature enthusiasts who prefer a more mindful experience.

Great day hiking in the National Park, even with the icy trails and drizzling rain! We were a group of 9 including our guide, Jeff. Pick up was easy and on time in a van. We were provided ice grips to put over our hiking shoes/boots. It was a fairly easy hike with some steep climbs, but nothing too difficult. There are stairs to the lunch spot. Lunch was perfect! There was plenty for everyone and it was filling and warm. The sauna experience and the cold plunge in the frozen lake was wonderful, fun and the most unique experience! Everything was thoroughly explained by Jeff in advance. We were a group of people from many different countries and Jeff really engaged all of us. Wonderful day and I'd do it again when I visit Helsinki!!

I’m glad that I joined this tour. Our guide, Jeff was nice, friendly, and well organized. He has a lot of knowledge about the nature. I joined this with my friend and I would say this tour became a biggest part of our Helsinki trip. With this tour, we were able to experience an authentic Finnish sauna, go hiking, and outdoor activities. It was nice to do something beyond the usual city sightseeing and connect with Finland’s culture. The organizer was very flexible about our dietary restrictions and also when my friend had to join a call during the tour, they were understanding. I highly recommend joining this tour !!

Jeff was a great guide, with a lot of knowledge and very friendly. The park was beautiful, and the typical Finnish meal was simple but really good. Finally, the sauna and the quick dip in the cold lake was unforgettable. Definitely worth it! Thank you again.

I had an amazing day exploring Sipoonkorpi National Park. Fantastic communication prior to the trip from Kiia means that you feel prepared before you go. Our guide Jeff was brilliant. His knowledge, attitude and enthusiasm was second to none and he facilitated a fantastic trip perfect for a solo traveller! I would recommended anyone who visits Helsinki to consider one of these tours to get outside the city and learn more about Finnish life. Thank you so much Taiga Times I hope to book with you again next time I'm back in this beautiful country!
