Quintas and Jeff were awesome! Personable, professional, and on-time. They went out of their way to engage with everyone, work through any language barriers and anything else needed to ensure all had a great experience. The terrain is not very taxing, the food is tasty, and the sauna is…well, it’s an experience you really shouldn’t miss. We did not have much time in Helsinki and, when asked, they offered other interesting things to do that we would never have known about. Please make the time to do this tour. It is absolutely something you are unlikely to do any other way.

An amazing experience!! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Kiia communicated with me so well before the experience even begun (and even went above and beyond to make me a vegan banana bread for dessert!!) and Jeff and Lidia were phenomenal guides! They were easy to talk to, funny and so knowledgeable and genuinely made the experience such an incredible day out in a gorgeous Finnish national park.

The guide and trainee guides were friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Lunch was satisfying and tasty. The hike was beautiful. But best of all, saunas and lake swims were sooooooo much fun. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys being in nature and spending time with other travellers from around the world. Thank you to the team and to the other travellers for such a fun and memorable day.

Alex was a wonderful guide. He prepared a delicious lunch. He was kind, patient, and understanding. His instructions were always spot on and prepared the team for the hike and sauna experiences.

I loved the vibe Alex brought as our guide, he made the experience feel genuine and authentic rather than touristic. I also really valued how friendly and helpful Alex was, combined with a strong and genuine respect for the environment. The experience included a light and very pleasant hike. Afterwards, Alex cooked a delicious traditional salmon soup for the group, and we finished with a sauna and a dip in the lake. Words can’t fully describe the full-body reset of going from 95°C to 4°C in just a few seconds, I’ve never felt so relaxed afterwards. An amazing experience that I’d confidently recommend as a must-do if you’re visiting Helsinki.

We had a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our day began with a scenic two-mile hike through a stunning national park, where our absolutely fabulous guide, Mary, introduced us to the local flora and fauna with so much passion and knowledge. At the midpoint, she amazed us by unpacking a 20–30 lb backpack filled with everything needed to create an incredible lunch—delicious salmon soup, fresh bread, blueberry juice, and warm cinnamon rolls. She even thoughtfully brought a vegan option for my friend, which we really appreciated. After the hike back, we experienced a traditional, rustic Finnish sauna. After just a few minutes in the heat, we made our way into the cold lake. I was extremely nervous and didn’t think I could do it—but I trusted the process, took the plunge, and felt so proud and exhilarated afterward. We repeated the cycle four times, and each round left me feeling more refreshed, energized, and alive. The experience ended with a relaxing 30-minute return to Helsinki. Thank you, Mary, for such a memorable and special day—we had an absolutely fantastic time.

I wholeheartedly recommend Taiga Times to anyone who prefers smaller groups and exclusive experiences. Our hike and sauna trip was very well planned and it didn't feel "touristy" at all. Excellent guides who truly love what they are doing.
