Thanks to its perfect geographical position between two really huge land masses, such as the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere, and the connection of these two, a few million years ago, which allowed different species of plants, animals and other creatures to begin migrations in search of new space to colonize. Some of these migrate from north to south and others from south to north, using Costa Rica as a land bridge. These migrations give the opportunity to different species that were not here before colonizing what is now Costa Rica, in addition to many species that evolved here and became new and endemic species for our country. That is why if you love nature and want to see a significant amount of different species with very different behaviors and in a very small area COSTA RICA is your best option. Once in Costa Rica, one of the main protected areas, one of the most biodiverse areas and one of the most visited cloud forests in the world is called MONTEVERDE, a well hidden paradise that you definitely won't want to miss.

Our guide was very informative about plants and animals along the hike. He was a wiz with finding birds with his spotting scope. Definitely a tour worth the price.

We took both the Night Tour at the wildlife refuge and the National History Tour at Curi Cancha with Jean Carlo, and I couldn't be happier we chose him! He's unbelievably knowledgeable about the wildlife and the forest itself. He's very attentive to the specific creatures you're excited to see and has some magical ability to find them! We saw an incredible amount and variety of birds and other animals on both tours. You can tell he's passionate about nature and wildlife and his enthusiasm is infectious, adding to the excitement of your experience. If you want to see wildlife, I would highly recommend booking with Jean Carlo - you won't be disappointed!

We took a tour of La Tigre waterfalls with Jean Carlo Tours. Jean was very knowledgeable and pointed out many birds and animals we would not have seen. He made our experience so much better.

We booked a nature tour with Jean Feb. 22nd for four people. Jean immediately communicated with me and confirmed our meeting place and time. We saw so many birds which we absolutely would not have seen without Jean's expertise. We also learned about the cloud forest. I felt like I was in the best class that I had ever taken. We have so many beautiful pictures of the animals that we saw. He sent us all of the pictures he took through his telescope and a list of all the birds and animals. This is a sampling of everything that we saw! House wren, ochraceous wren, cabanis' wren, Mountain Thrush, White-throated Thrush, Elegant Eupnoia, Golden-browed Chlorphonia, Yellow-crowned Euphonia, Rufous-collared Sparrow, White-eared ground sparrow, Wilson's Warbler, Slate-throated Redstart, Scarlet-thighed Dacnis, yellow faced grassquit, crested Guan, White-tipped Dove, Sqirrel Cuckoo, Lesser Violetear, Coppery-headed Emerald, Stripe-tailed hummingbird, swallow-tailed Kite, Resplendent Quetzal, Plain Antivireo, Long-tailed Manakin, Dusky-capped Flycatcher, Boat-billed Flycatcher, brown jay, Northern Emeral Toucanet, Keel Bill Toucan (heard), Collared peccary, Central American Agouti, White nosed Coati, Orange knee Tarantula. So many! We would only have seen the hummingbirds and coati! Thank you for the amazing day!
