With this tour, the visitor will have the opportunity to take a bath in the most famous spa on the island of São Miguel and the Azores, the Natural Monument of the Old Caldera.
In addition, you can observe the beautiful Lagoa do Fogo, enjoy the waves of the Areal de Santa Bárbara and taste the Tea do Porto Formoso.
Lunch is included on this tour, and is not any lunch. With him you will have the opportunity to taste the Cozido das Caldeiras. It is a dish that is cooked at high temperatures underground.

What To Expect
Lagoa do Fogo
Lagoa do Fogo is the second largest lagoon on the island of São Miguel and one of the largest in the Azores. It is located in the Serra de Água de Pau, which is the second highest place on the island of São Miguel. The visitor will have the opportunity to climb to the lagoon site along a road full of hydrangeas, which makes for an even more pleasant view. Once there, you will be able to contemplate the beautiful lagoon with its magnificent blue tones and still enjoy the view over the city of Ribeira Grande.
Centro de Interpretacao Ambiental Caldeira Velha
Caldeira Velha is a natural thermal complex that features a waterfall of hot iron water and is located in the city of Ribeira Grande. In addition to being able to bathe in a beautiful waterfall of hot water, there are also two other hot iron water pools at your disposal. In addition to visiting Caldeira Velha, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the Ribeira Grande Surf Center, the municipal swimming pools, the Palheiro Viewpoint, the Castelo Viewpoint, the Salto do Cabrito and the Liquor Factory.

5.00Arthur was the best tour guide we have had so far. He is so nice and knowledgeable. He seemed to know be and be liked by lots of places we toured and also some additional places we got to see like the tea factory and other beautiful lookouts over Furnace. He was very knowledgeable and down to earth. We would highly recommend this tour guide and this tour. We did one today with another company booked ahead of time and it was not as good. Arthur and his tour company is the gold standard so far.

5.00We had a wonderful day exploring the island with Artur. Artur was a great tour guide and really made the experience special for everyone on it. He gave us a very comprehensive taste of the islands highlights. The lunch was delicious and the hot springs we went to were absolutely stunning. Would definitely book another tour with Artur is we visit the island again.

5.00This was an incredible day with Artur (one of two). We were treated as family, from start to finish. We explored several thermal pools (of our choosing), enjoyed an amazing local dish altogether, visited the tea plantation, all while learning more about the culture and people of Azores. This is a must if you want something intimate, flexible, at your own pace and with a guide we can now call a friend and family.
