Garden District
Dubbed the “Garden District” for its over the top gardens, this part of New Orleans is noted for breathtaking scenery. Visitors are enthralled by the elegant mansions and picturesque setting that promises a relaxing, memorable experience. Many celebrities live in the Garden District so you’ll never know just who you’ll see out in their yards or walking their dogs. America’s sweetheart Sandra Bullock has a house blocks off St. Charles Avenue. New Orleans native, The Big Lebowski actor John Goodman calls this historic neighborhood home, as well as our very own New Orleans Saint, Drew Brees. Nicolas Cage is seen around as well. We’ll see the homes featured in the novels of Anne Rice and countless films. We’ll take you to see the more famous, or infamous places the residents of the Garden District call home. We’ll tour the oak-lined streets, and you’ll sit feet from some of the most historic mansions in all of America.
Treme
The Treme (pronounced “Treh-MAY”; historically Faubourg Tremé) is the birthplace of Jazz. The Treme is the spiritual home of our city. Congo Square in Armstrong Park anchors this historic neighborhood where the streets have more history than some books. The Treme has been a legendary influence of New Orleans culture. So many significant events have taken places on these back streets of Treme.

New Orleans is more than Bourbon Street and this tour covers a lot! Lee was great- we learned so much and he kept the narrative going even tho traffic and detours popped up there was never a quiet moment. All neighborhoods were covered and snack & pit stop halfway thru were key. I highly recommend this trip in the a/c comfort.

We were picked up at our hotel on time, and welcomed by our guide/driver Justin. The bus was comfortable and clean. Justin was incredibly knowledgeable about so many factors that make up the history and present state of a city. He included politics, music, historical tax policies, fashion, finance, construction techniques... in short, there was something for everyone. And through it all he sprinkled enough humorous commentary to keep us off-guard. That said, he wasn't working on material for a standup routine... everything was topical and appropriate. All-in-all, it was a great afternoon. This was our second time to take the tour, the first being a couple of years ago. It was nice to see that it is still a high-quality activity.

Justin was a great guide! He was funny and informative. The stop at St Louis Cemetery #3 was a short 10 minutes but the stop at the Cafe Du Monde in City Park was 15 minutes. He took extra care to ensure our kids were aboard before departing. I recommend this for a city orientation.
