This is the night time version of our rock hounding tour. This will go for two hours, and you will explore three great spots. You will follow in your car although there is some room in the guide’s vehicle as well. Using a UV light we will find fluorescent calcite and other minerals like Malachite, azurite, turquoise, quartz, Jasper and agate. You will also be learning all about the history of Bisbee and the geology associated with this rich mining area.

Night rockhounding with Sean was so much fun. We visited multiple locations and ended up coming home with a few bags of glow-in-the-dark treasures. What looks like an ordinary brown rock during the day suddenly fluoresces under different wavelengths of black light. Truly incredible to see in person. Sean was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and made the entire evening both educational and entertaining. We learned a ton, had great conversation, and genuinely enjoyed every minute. We would absolutely do this tour again. Highly recommend for anyone with even a remote interest in rocks, geology, or just unique nighttime adventures.

Sean was incredible! We found lots of rocks (and glowing baby scorpions) and he gave us lots of history of the area and good restaurant recommendations. His dog, Winnie, is also great. Would highly recommend this trip!

From different colored rocks of varying designs, to scorpions, and even a walking stick (who knew they fluoresce), there was more to see than I expected. Sean was nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. If you're in town for a night, this is a definite to-do. While the rest of the town was dead quiet and everything closed, we were out having fun.

HOW COOL!!! This was such a neat experience and we very much enjoyed learning all about fluorescent rocks and the geology of Bisbee. Great host, great spots, and such a fun thing to do whether you're on a trip/tour or at home!

This is a great experience for the entire family! Seemed weird at first walking around in the dark looking at rocks (and scorpions!), but the coolness factor quickly overwhelmed that! So cool to watch as the ground lit up with all sorts of bright colors! Sean was a great guide, knowledgeable, and personable! Clear dark skies were an extra added bonus...so many stars! Plus, the bugs didn't bother us, but instead provided excellent night music!

Sean was fantastic! So knowledgeable and friendly. Our kids 9-18 LOVED looking for the rocks that reacted to the lights. Our first stop was filled with reactive rocks, the second it took is longer but we found some amazing ones eventually. Our third stop was unlucky. As most of them had been picked already. But Sean kept it fun the whole time. Highly recommend if anyone in your family loves cool rocks. My daughter is still talking about it 3 days later!

The guide was very nice in informative. Very easy to like and talk to. Had several places that were close to each other so your time wasn’t spent traveling. He brought his dog along which loved all the petting. Found alot of orange glowing minerals which seamed to be the dominant color. Along an abandoned RR bed we did find some deep red rocks that glowed but you had to have your light within 10 inches to tell. I did bring my own UV light but I found out it was the wrong wave length for all the colors. Guide had some to pass out. On amazon get yourself a 365 wave length UV light. The bigger the flashlight the longer it will last. Our provided lights were palm of your hand sized and died in an hour. Im sure he had more for us but we were at the end of the 2 hr tour anyway. Would go with that tour again next time visiting. Did find several glowing scorpions. So cool!

The Nighttime Fluorescent Rockhounding Tour was a really fun and unique experience. Shawn, our guide, was super knowledgeable and friendly, and he provided all the lights we needed. We visited three different spots to search for glowing rocks, which was a cool adventure in itself. We were a little disappointed that most of what we found were the same types of minerals, but we did spot some scorpions under the lights, which added an extra thrill. What really made the tour special was Shawn himself — he’s a local who runs this on the side, and his down-to-earth approach made it feel personal and authentic. I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for something different to do at night in the area.
