This tour offers a warm, personal experience with a maximum of six guests, led by friendly student guides who feel like local friends. They bring fresh perspectives, strong local knowledge, and a genuine passion for sharing Kyoto’s history and culture.
The tour covers both famous sights and hidden gems. Starting at Minamiza Theater, we walk along a calm street by a stream with a traditional snack. We visit a small local shrine, then Yasaka Shrine with its lantern-lit stage. Strolling through Gion, we reach an iconic view of a Buddhist pagoda before entering the Geisha district, where we share insights into Geisha culture. You may even catch a glimpse of a Geisha.

I had the absolute best time! Seriously, my brain was so happy with all the cool info I learned today. The stories about Yasaka Shrine were the highlight—literally one 'wow' moment after another! Our guide, Teraken, was such a legend. He knows everything and answered all our random questions with a huge smile. Honestly, you'd miss so much just walking around by yourself. Teraken's professional insights made the whole trip. So glad I went! If you’re thinking about it, just do it! You won’t regret it! :)

Had the best experience in Kyoto! Our guide Kazuki was super knowledgeable, funny and friendly. We even went to dinner together afterwards!! The Geisha part was especially interesting, he provided some great insights from the perspective of a local. Thank you Kazuki!

Reiga was hands down the best guide we had on our entire trip to Japan. He brought the history of Maiko and Geiko to life in such an engaging way, and we were lucky enough to spot two Geiko during the walk! He also went the extra mile by sharing his favorite local dinner spots, which were absolutely spot on. A true 10/10 experience—highly recommended!
