At the end I will explain why I subtracted 2*. Everything is in line with the offer. The program was fully implemented. All services were performed correctly. The ship, of course, has nothing to do with 5*. It is somewhere on the border of 3.5*, maybe 4*. Although there is a 5* certificate hanging at the reception. A common problem in Egypt, overestimating the category. But it is clean and looks renovated internally. The cabins are clean, well-equipped and thoroughly cleaned every day. Quite cramped but that is typical of ships. The staff is very nice and helpful. The food in the form of a buffet, typical for 4*, quite monotonous but of good quality and tasty. There are always 2 soups to choose from, main courses, rice, potatoes, meat, fish, lots of vegetables, various types of bread, local and international desserts, fruits. All drinks are always additionally payable but the prices are decent, you could even say low. If someone is interested, there are alcoholic beverages. Of course, for breakfast, coffee and tea are free. The Viator booking system is a bit surprising, but it has nothing to do with reality. When booking, you can choose your pick-up time from your hotel. And these are hours between 7 a.m. and 12 noon. However, in the evening before the cruise, you get a text message saying that the time is 9 a.m. and there is no discussion. This causes some confusion. On the second day, we woke up at 3 a.m. because we were leaving for Abu Simbel. We expected to sleep in the next day, but we woke up at 5 a.m. to visit the temple. The next day at 4 a.m. because of the balloon flight. As a result, we only had a real breakfast on the ship once, on the second day, when we returned from visiting the temple. In other cases, we got quite decent dry provisions. And only on one day, from morning until 3 p.m., when we arrived in Luxor, could we rest on board. Of course, there was also a Nubian village plus a bath in the Nile (which is crazy due to the possibility of contracting Schistosomiasis) for USD 30 (with little interest) and shops with spices, perfumes and alabaster - of average quality. Guide Taalat Abdo very well prepared to guide around ancient monuments. In each place visited, he told in great detail and at length. He is a doctor of Egyptology. He looked after the interests of the group. He indicated where it was cheaper, what was profitable and how not to overpay. He collected USD 100 for tickets to the visited places plus USD 22 for tips. Each time he gave away the purchased tickets to all tourists. Everything would have been fine if on the last day Taalat had not spoiled the atmosphere by forcing people to write positive 5* reviews. And that would not have been a problem because you can persuade. But taking the phones of the cruise participants and writing reviews yourself is unacceptable and caused some participants a bad taste and consternation. Especially since the trip was generally successful and there would be no reason to leave negative reviews. Then I understood why most of the reviews I read before buying the cruise were artificial and uniformly 5*. I suspect that the superiors demand 5* reviews from everyone, not knowing that they are making a mistake and this type of style has short legs. The pilot can suggest positive reviews but cannot enter them in the customers' accounts. This is a disgrace.
