What To Expect
Hanoi
07h30 - 8h00: Our tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter for transfer to Ninh Binh. 09h15: You will have a short break of 15 - 20 minutes to stretch your legs, use the facilities or have a quick snack.
Hoa Lu temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties
10h30: Visiting Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam from years 968 to 1010. Then you will visit the Temple of Dinh King and Le King to learn more about Vietnamese history under the Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasties.

Could Have Been Great — Sadly Let Down by Poor Planning

2.00The best part of this day trip was the bus — spacious, comfortable, with plenty of legroom and charging points. Unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end. The schedule was very poorly organised. The main highlight, climbing the mountain, was rushed and limited to just one hour out of a 13-hour day. The lunch buffet offered very few choices, and the bike ride felt pointless — we spent around 30 minutes cycling down a random side road to a “village” that didn’t really exist. The two-hour boat trip, shared with four people, didn’t include a single stop to visit any temples. It’s a real shame because this could have been such a lovely day out if only someone had taken the time to plan it properly instead of turning it into yet another money-making scheme.

5.00Our guide Hung accompanied our family (4 people) on a private tour of Cuc Phuong National Park. We visited a prehistoric cave, a monkey and bear station and had a 3 hour hike through the park to the 5 ancient trees. Our guide Hing was very friendly and competent and made for a wonderful day trip from Hanoi. The round trip was very comfortable.

4.00Our guide Tom did a great job, He was always friendly and entertaining while presenting his stories and guiding us through the day. Sadly there were too many tourists at the visited places, even though the season just started. I guess it will get worse...

5.00It was amazing! Exceeded my expectations. The ride was very comfortable, could’ve had a bit more AC but the chairs were nice and relaxing. The tour was great on providing more historical insights on the temples/sites. Food was delicious as well, and tour guide, Tom, was very accommodating and made sure everyone was safe.

5.00The tour was truly excellent! 🚴♂️ I especially enjoyed the biking part—felt invigorating and just the right amount of challenge. The temple was impressive as well, rich in history and atmosphere. The Trang An river tour, without a doubt, was breathtaking 🌊. I managed to enjoy about half of it, but by the end, the length was quite overwhelming, and frankly, we had enough. Lunch was fantastic 🍽️, with a wide variety of options to suit everyone’s palate. Our guide, called Two, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience even more insightful. The mountain view was absolutely picturesque 🏞️, though certainly not for the faint-hearted! On that note, perhaps there should be an option to shorten the boat ride by half ⛴️, as it felt excessively long towards the end. Overall, a really memorable day!

5.00No doubt Ninh Binh is spectacular. What made it memorable was Loi. Loi’s love for Vietnam showed when he talked about its history and beauty with passion and heart that I felt his soul. Loi made us welcome and invited us to see Ninh Binh like family. Loi’s exuberance and joyful tone was infectious which made for an unforgettable experience. I am still smiling thinking about Ninh Binh. Thank you, Loi.
