Its historical, cultural, nature tour spend a day discovering Nizwa, Nizwa was the capital of Oman 500 years ago, and it was the capital of Islamic culture in 2015, We'll take you on a tour between the ancient market of Nizwa, next to Nizwa market Nizwa fort and castle the fort its been build in 1649 and the castle been build in 888, the fort is a museum today.

From Nizwa we drive towards Misfat Al Abriyeen village 3000 years old located at the foot of Al Hajar mountains, from there we drive up to Jabal Shams (The Grand Canyon of Oman) exciting off-road, beautiful view

Nizwa Souq

We'll visit the famous Nizwa Market (Souq), where a wide variety of vendors offer their goods in the streets of the souq, From here you can find, vegetables, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts, Omani sweets (Halwa), dates spice, and souvenirs which are sold in authentic old market halls that few places can boast, especially interesting is the Friday cattle market when the locals from the nearby villages come to sell their, goats, cattle, sheep, and chickens in a circus-style open market place. Please note: if you stay in Muscat and you want to catch the cattle market you have to start at 05:30 AM, so please get in touch with us after you make the booking or mention it in the special request form, and we'll message you bake.

Nizwa Fort Oman

Next to the Souq is Nizwa Fortress, the Fort is a museum today and offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains, you can walk around in this impressive Fortress and visit its many rooms, passages, and towers, the fort is an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century, it was a military stronghold designed to withstand even the strongest of attacks at the time, even along the corridors, many traps were laid to deter any intruders that might have penetrated the defenses.

Really cool place to visit. What I really liked about this market was that it wasn't packed. You could actually move freely - except when you were in the DATES section as the cash registers were not the best situated - but they were fast. The merchandise is better than other markets - not as commercial. The vendors were really kind and helpful. The animal market was fun to watch! The pottery was amazing!! The Fort was really interesting...lots of steps - wear good shoes. It's been well preserved and the people are very proud of it.

What a wonderful day! Fahad arrived at our Airbnb promptly and drove us in air conditioned comfort to the various stops on the tour. Nizwa souq, fort and castle - so interesting and full of history. Fahad knew even more than the information provided at the sites. He didn't rush us when we may have spent more time at the souq than allocated lol. Lunch was at a roadside Yemeni restaurant - delicious. Then on to Jebel Shams, Al Hamra and Misfat Al Abriyeen. Fahad knows so much about Oman's culture and history, and was happy to share it all with us. The stops were fascinating and Fahad took a lot of photos for us and with us. It was an incredible day. Special thanks to Fahad and his team.
