Each tour stop showcases why Traverse City's vineyard region has become one of America's premier wine destinations. Grand Traverse Bay
Grand Traverse Bay is an arm of Lake Michigan. The bay is separated from the rest of Lake Michigan by the Leelanau Peninsula. The bay is some 32 miles long, ranges from 7 to 10 miles wide, and up to 620 feet deep in spots. It is the second-largest bay of Lake Michigan, behind Green Bay. Grand Traverse Bay earned its name from 18th-century French voyageurs who made "la grande traverse" or a long trek or crossing, across the mouth of bay. The most famous feature of the Grand Traverse Bay is the division into East and West arms by the Old Mission Peninsula. During this tour, on the way from Traverse City to Hawthorne Vineyards, our tour guests will see stunning views of the East Bay. Tour guests will be driven right along the shoreline at times. On the drive from Hawthorne to Bowers guests will see views of the West Bay. Tour guests will see views of both East and West Bays during the rest of the tour as well. A very large part of this award winning tour are the views!

3.00It was overall fun because I with my daughter but we were very disappointed that we did not follow the itinerary. I chose this tour because of this specific itinerary. I even asked multiple times to go to chateau Chantelle and the Bowers winery. He did stop for us to take a quick picture with the sign at bowers.

5.00Mike was a great tour guide! We were able to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. He was very knowledgeable about styles of wines at the different wineries. We like sweeter wines and so he was able to help us choose places fit our palate the best. We were the only ones on the tour so we were able to customize the stops a bit. Mike did a great job getting us settled in at each winery; giving suggestions and then giving us time to enjoy. We never felt rushed. I would definitely recommend this tour! We are planning on going again soon!

5.00Don’t keep looking! Just book this tour , you will not be disappointed and so happy you did . You will be treated like VIP! Mike was a great guide, so nice to seat back and have someone doing the driving for you . Never felt rush, just had a wonderful time !

5.00Mike was an excellent driver and very personable. He asked us if there were any wineries we were interested in otherwise his choices for our group’s interest were spot on. We were not rushed, but had plenty of our own timing at each winery. It was nice being in our small group making it very enjoyable and more private. We would definitely recommend Mike!!! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon. 😊
