Soak up the lush landscape of Oahu’s North Shore on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP). During a 2-hour lesson, suitable for beginner paddlers, you’ll receive instruction before balancing your board on the calm waters of the Anahulu River, abundant with sea turtles and other marine life. With no more than three students per instructor, enjoy a personalized session tailored to your skill and fitness level. Choose from multiple options: a small-group, semi-private or private family lesson in the morning, midday or afternoon.

Minimum age is 8 years for the small-group lesson
It is recommended that you bring sunglasses with a strap, a hat or other sun protection, and wear a swimsuit or clothing that you don't mind getting wet

What To Expect
We start at the mouth of the Anahulu river near Haleiwa Harbor and travel upstream. The Anahulu River feeds into Waialua Bay from the Koolau Range, and the mix of fresh and saltwater creates brackish hues know for its solitude and frequent turtle sightings. The river’s current is so slight that it makes for a nearly effortless outing. A journey to the river’s end takes about 60 minutes, where turns into a tranquil mountain stream. There, paddlers can turn right back around and follow the gentle current back to Waialua Bay. In the Bay, students who want to can try riding the small waves that are usually breaking over a safe sand bar.

5.00Aimee took me to a calm river by the north shore. We got to see turtles sleeping on the side. It was very calm and relaxing tour. This is good for anyone new to paddle board. Aimee gave me lots of recommendations in Oahu island.

5.00Our daughter had a 2-hour private lesson with Aimee. She was fantastic! Our daughter had taken a 3-hour lesson in California in June with a group, but the time was split between everyone. Since she caught on so quickly, this time we did a private so she could advance more quickly. Aimee was so easy to work with - taught her how to read waves and all the other things she needs to know to confidently surf on her own now. Highly, highly recommend North Shore Surf Girls!

5.00So much fun!! Our teacher was super nice and out-going! Made paddle board fun and easy to learn! She made sure we were all safe all the time and gave us tips. We even saw some turtles while she was saving some birds. She was so lovely! Definitely recommend!

5.00My best friend & I booked a great tour with this company! The owner was so pleasant & informative and our guide Kaya was wonderful. Little did we know that she’s a competitive surfer who masters 30-40 foot waves! I had paddle boarded before but my friend was a beginner. Kaya was patient & walked her through each step. We met other locals, saw gorgeous plant life up the river, and saw so many turtles, young & old. I highly recommend this tour to experience the locals, their passion for island life and the turtles. Bring reef/fish safe sunscreen that is healthy for sea life. Then go get a well deserved açaí bowl at Bonzeye nearby. A perfect day in the north shore!

5.00Carol is such an expert at what she does! I learned so much in the first hour that I was coached by her. I felt comfortable, safe, and by the end of the lesson I was able to get up on a few waves on my own!! Definitely recommend North Shore Surf Girls!

5.00The North Shore Surf Girls are the best! They communicate well, are very helpful from the start to finish. They explain everything to you before you even get in the water which made me feel very comfortable. When we get out there they made me understand what was going to happen before it was going to happen so I didn’t have any surprises. After they would help me to catch a wave they would always give me great feedback on what I did right and what I needed to work on. I felt a little scared at first but the way that the North Shore Surf girls are so kind that the whole experience was amazing. I definitely recommend the North Shore Surf Girls if you’re going to take a surf lesson out on the North Shore of Oahu.
