Fairbanks
Not a single meeting with the Northern Lights is like another. Each time the lights change colors and start new dance. Their main hue is green, but it can be purple, pink, red and blue, depending on their strength and atmospheric conditions. Aurora Borealis is a mystical unpredictable and beautiful phenomenon that suddenly appears and disappears in the same way.

A must see. A magical experience with a great touring team. The sky was so bright and beautiful. The light were early for us and remained for some time.

This experience was absolutely incredible! They pick you up at your hotel and drive as far as they need to for a spot with no cloud coverage. For our night we drove to Denali National Park and got to see the lights over the trees and mountains. The guides were lovely and enthusiastic and provided snacks, water, hand warmers during and cake at the end. They take a TON of pictures of everyone throughout. I’d definitely recommend this tour! Dress warm!

If you want to see the Aurora Borealis, this is the tour for you!!! The guides monitor and track the weather and real-time solar in the area around Fairbanks. They will bring you to locations that optimizes your chance to get the best aurora display. Your drive maybe 1-2.5 hours outside of Fairbanks in to a location (or locations they identify with their specialized apps that they are constantly checking. The heated van is limited to about a dozen participants as well as 2 guides. Snacks and water are provided. The tour’s focus is maximizing your ability to experience the mystical sky show known as the northern lights. Although you probably don’t want to, feel free to leave your cameras at home or back in your hotel room. One of the guides sets up to take portraits of you in front of the aurora. They will take as many as you want – and you will want multiple shots as the aurora changes and dances across the sky. Another guide sets up to take a time-lapse video of the spectacle in the sky. About a week after your tour, they send you a link that enables you to download images of the aurora, photos of you and your fellow travelers as well as the video(s) they shot. During our visit to Fairbanks, we went on two tours. The first tour involved a pickup at 7:30PM, a drive east of Delta Junction and long stops at two locations to view the aurora and a 5:15AM drop-off back at our hotel. The display was sufficiently grand that my wife was able to check off another item from her bucket list. The second tour involved a pickup at 7:50PM, a drive about 45 minutes north of Fairbanks and a spectacular display of the Northern Lights that went on for hours. We returned to our hotel at 3:30AM. In each case when we were dropped off, we were given a goodie-bag full of Alaskan memories. I think of myself as an amateur photographer. Although it may have been nice to capture images of the aurora above majestic mountains or reflecting onto a lake or river, I was thrilled with the photos I got. If we ever go back to Fairbanks, hoping to see the Northern Lights, we will definitely sign up with the same tour company. In fact, I have already suggested them to a couple of fellow members of our local camera club who are planning on making a similar trek to Fairbanks to view the aurora.

My friend and I went for the Northern Lights tour on Jan 20th and witnessed a spectacular show after the geomagnetic storm on the 19th. That said, even without the lights, I would've still given this tour five stars. I also booked a tour last April when we unfortunately didn’t get to see the aurora. Even then, I could see this couples dedication to trying their best to give guests the best experience they can, despite so many factors being completely out of their control and in the hands of Mother Nature. This night was beyond memorable and the passion both of them have for the aurora shines through so clearly. Ed made sure we didn’t miss any movement and always knew exactly where to look for the best possible show. Elena made sure we had numerous photographs to capture everything that was happening in as many angles as possible. What stood out most, though, was how genuinely excited they were to see the aurora themselves, even knowing that this is something they experience regularly. Beyond that, it was obvious they truly cared about our well-being, taking care to check that we were prepared for the cold temperatures and adjusting how we viewed the aurora accordingly. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough, I would book with them again in a heartbeat.

This aurora tour was absolutely outstanding. The guides are incredibly responsible, patient, and highly professional. They truly care about every guest and made sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the night. What impressed me most was their expertise in predicting the aurora. Using their own experience and proven methods, they accurately judged the timing of the aurora’s appearance—and it worked! We were able to see the northern lights beautifully. They also thoughtfully prepared snacks, water, and hand warmers for all guests, which made a huge difference in the cold. On top of that, they took professional photos for us with high-quality cameras, so we could fully enjoy the moment without worrying about taking pictures ourselves. Everything was well organized, warm, and stress-free. If you are serious about seeing the aurora and want a trustworthy, experienced team, I highly recommend this tour. It was an unforgettable experience!

I could not have asked for a better experience. While seeing the actual aurora is a bit of luck, we certainly lucked out and saw one of the best shows ever imaginable that lasted for hours. The photos I am posting are only barely brighter than the peaks of the real thing. Usually, the photos you see are quite a bit more exaggerated than the real thing due to how the aurora is picked up in digital photography. - Our tour guides, Elana and Ed (I may have his name wrong) were extremely informative with the data they were tracking and presented it in a fun and clear way. We got so lucky because they timed our arrival to a spot that was under an hour from downtown Fairbanks PERFECTLY and we got out of the van seconds before one of the best aurora's in the past couple of years. Again, having the aurora this bright and for so many hours is certainly luck, but the data interpretation, known viewing spots without light pollution, cloud coverage and timing of our arrival is not luck. They kept it fun the entire time and showed genuine excitement for themselves and for all of us getting this experience. They gave us snacks and water and even scrounged up some toe warmers for me and my poor choice of winter boots. - The van was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be due to me and my partner being picked up first and sitting in the front row, which are two bucket seats. I do not think any of the rows are bench seats, so you do feel a bit more private. I cannot say how the back rows feel, but if you get carsick, maybe request the front (I did not have to, but might have if we were not first in). They coordinate the pickup time and tell you in advance. We were picked up at 7pm and it took about an hour to round up everyone else which was about 10 people. - If you are a couple or solo, they will get as many pictures of you as possible at all stages of the night. Elana encourages fun and silly pictures as well as anything you can dream of. - They will stay as long as you wish or is reasonable. We were actually ready to leave an hour before the rest of the group and we stayed even longer for a couple to finish waiting for them (too long as the sights had ended). But you would rather them wait for people who were still hopeful to see and photograph more than pressure us to leave if there is a chance to see more. We were out there for HOURS and saw repeated waves of incredible and differing spectacles including things that Ed said he'd never seen before. I would wholeheartedly recommend this trip even if you have a car as you are more likely to see it with people who know where to go and when to go there. We had good luck driving ourselves too, but their spots were much less trafficked and quiet. In fact, we didn't see but one other car the entire time.

It's a long activity. A good 2 hr drive north of fairbanks to get the best view of Aurora. The guides were full of energy and gives so much encouragement for you to seize the moment, take endless photos of you with background of the aurora. Wear appropriate clothing since this activity is completely outdoor, exposed to cold environment. Totally worth it
