This tour combines Northern Lights viewing with local history, close encounters and authentic Arctic hospitality in the Malangen fjords. Rather than a fast-paced chase, the experience is designed to slow down and connect with people, animals and place.
The evening begins with a visit to the historic Mortenhals trading post, where local storytelling brings everyday life and history in Northern Norway to life. Guests then visit a small, family-run husky kennel, home to friendly Alaskan Huskies bred and trained for long-distance sled dog racing. Here, visitors learn about sled dog culture, meet the dogs up close and gain insight into the strong bond between musher and dog.
The evening concludes at a quiet fjord-side location with Arctic activities, sauna and a warm meal, while waiting for the Northern Lights away from city lights. Operated in small groups with local hosts, this experience offers a calm, genuine Arctic evening beyond the usual highlights.

Malangen
Travel through the scenic Malangen fjord region, known for its dramatic Arctic landscapes, fjords, mountains and coastal villages. The journey takes you from Tromsø across Kvaløya and through the Rya Tunnel to the Malangen peninsula, passing small settlements along the fjord with beautiful photo opportunities along the way.
Mortenhals Gard
Mortenhals Gård and historic trading post has been in continuous operation since the late 1800s and has remained in the same family for nearly 200 years. Located just below Malangen Church, the site played an important role in local trade and everyday life, with a shop and post office serving the surrounding community. Today, the farm and shop function as a small local museum, where visitors can experience an authentic and well-preserved trading post with minimal changes since it first opened. During the visit, guests gain insight into local history, commerce and daily life in Northern Norway through guided storytelling.
