Northern Lights Midnight Adventure is a hunt for Iceland’s magical but elusive Northern Lights. Many visitors travel to Iceland to see the Northern Lights but don’t know where to look.
On this tour you travel in a comfortable, heated minibus while your guide searches for the best location to view the Northern Lights. Your guide will also explain the science of how the Northern Lights display occurs.
When or if the Northern Lights appear, your guide will offer to take photos for all participants, so you don’t have to bring a professional camera or be a professional photographer to join this tour. This tour is an ideal opportunity to get the most of your time in Iceland.
Northern Lights are natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

5.00This trip was recommended by travel companions we met in Iceland. The experience was incredible and while it cost a bit more than other Northern Lights experiences, I can see why. The driver works with a "central command" to identify areas in the sky without clouds, and compare that to solar activity. They knew exactly where to drive and we went to multiple locations. Unlike other tours which are set to go to one location, this tour will take you wherever the Northern Lights are brightest. The drive was knowledgeable and fun, informative and also took amazing pictures of all the attendees. Included in the trip is the professional pics that were taken during your tour.

5.00Our guide, the owner of the company, was very knowledgeable about the lights and gave many interesting facts. The hot cocoa was great and he stopped for bathroom breaks which was much appreciated. Also, he had several spots that he took us to even though we didn’t have a very good showing of the lights I enjoyed the facts and company of the guide.

5.00This was an amazing experience! Luck was with us, and we began seeing the lights shortly after leaving Reykjavic. Our guide knew just where to go for viewing, and was very informative with great info all night long. The bus was comfortable. All in all one of the best experiences of my life!

5.00This was a truly unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our trip. We were picked up in a small, comfortable minibus that was very well organised and perfectly on time. After collecting a few other guests, we drove for around forty-five minutes out of town to a remote roadside location, which felt safe and peaceful with very little light pollution. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, explaining how the Northern Lights are influenced by solar activity and the K-index, and even how they can sometimes be visible much further south. It added a fascinating educational element to the evening. The lights appeared earlier than expected and were highly visible, creating real excitement within the group. They faded and returned again, even stronger, giving us several chances to fully enjoy the spectacle. We were able to pop in and out of the minibus to warm up between viewings, and we were treated to the most delicious hot chocolate, which was very welcome in the cold conditions. The guide was incredibly helpful, taking photographs of both the lights and everyone in the group so we could focus on the experience rather than our cameras. It was very cold, around -5°C with a strong wind chill, but the atmosphere was absolutely magical. The stars were incredibly bright and added to the sense of being somewhere truly special and remote. Overall, a wonderfully organised, safe and memorable experience that we would highly recommend to anyone hoping to see the Northern Lights.

5.00Yahhh we were able to experience the Northern Lights. Our driver was incredibly knowledgeable about the Northern Lights. He had a great personality and was very interactive with the group. He took some amazing photos which are included. If you aren’t as fortunate to experience the lights on your scheduled night the company gives you the opportunity to go out a second night. Overall I would highly recommend this tour!

5.00It’s a very small group that goes, which we loved, on a very nice and clean and comfortable bus. The owner, also our tour guide, was very knowledgable , friendly, and funny. It was COLD dress very warm! But we got loads of good pictures with hot chocolate. I highly recommend for couples or solo travelers. The Northern Lights were surreal to see.

5.00After a week of poor visibility and a cancelled night, we were not feeling confident. But after about 90 minutes of driving around and one good stop where we saw the lights, we hit jackpot: Tomas took us to a second location where the Northern Lights were absolutely stunning! The sky was dancing with lights and stars, and Tomas's excitement was catching. He also took dozens of pictures of the sky (and all tour participants with the sky) with a professional camera which were shared with us the next day. The tour was about three hours from pick up to drop off and well worth it -- we were the only tour at any of three locations we stopped at, so this company is obviously very knowledgeable about great places to catch the lights.

5.00We had a great evening with Siggi on this trip. The lights were dancing over Reykjavik as we left the city, they toyed with us for a while then disappeared. Siggi’s knowledge and skills in reading all the data meant we stayed put and at 11:30, just when he said they would, they came back and treated us to a super display. The lights looked like white rolling clouds in the night sky and you didn’t really see the colour until you took your photos, but watching them roll and move above us, even in monochrome, was fantastic and then the photos brought them to life. Be aware it gets REALLY cold out of the city at night, we got to -9 and it was bitter, the minibus is available for warm ups and Siggi always shouted when there was something to see. The hot chocolate he provided at 11:30 as we watched the lights dance above us was heavenly, a great experience and we learnt a lot about the lights too. He takes loads of photos with slow exposure and sends them after the trip, so you get some great professional shots as well as your own efforts. Wrap up super warm and enjoy!
