  Easy pick up and drop off at the port where our ship was docked. Great driver and guide who made sure we had a wonderful experience. Fortunately, the lights were very active and we stopped at various spots to see the lights. Even stayed longer at the final stop to enjoy the light display.

  Mr. Holten personally drove the bus, and took us to amazing sites to view the northern lights. The lights were AMAZING, we will never forget the experience. Great time and a wonderful host.

  

  

  

• Best way to see the Northern Lights is with a native of the area

  Our driver/guide was the owner of the business. Being a native of Alta he knew where to go to try get us the best picture taking spots that were sheltered from the wind. Mother Nature did not disappoint us at his choices. The lights were strong enough to see them with our naked eyes. Being able to see the lights this way was my wife’s requirement to say that what she just seen were the lights. We would definitely use KjellAge Holten when we’re back in Alta during the season of the Northern Lights.

  The driver showed up without a guide. He didn't give any information, only answering questions if asked. But the main concern was the disrespect showed a guest, called her stupid. He didn't have a plan, we didn't see the Aurora Borealis. I understand that a lot depends on the weather conditions, but I have gone in other tours with the same purpose and the difference is remarkable. Viator should not represent this outfitters.

  1-we had NO GUIDE, only driver 2-Very rude driver, we were talking to him and suddenly I asked a question regarding where else could we maybe look for the Lights and he responded very RUDELY “That is a very stupid question” and so on That response was totally out of line!!! We were 7 people in that tour and NO ONE THOUGHT it was stupid anyway but that is besides the point, even if it had been, he totally disrespected me, à woman and an elder. It is not Viator’s fault obviously but you should be more aware of the providers you hire and their services and people skills I am a very experienced 76 yr old lady traveling all around the world that the only reason I didn’t get into an argumentative situation was because I didn’t want my son in law to get involved in the disrespectful behavior and escalate the situation Also, your tour included driver and guide and he told us there was no guide yesterday, NOT WHAT I PAID FOR!!!!

  Our guide did a fantastic job. He knew exactly where to go to get the best experience. Great tour for a fraction of the cost the Cruise Line charges. Highly recommend.

  I really enjoyed this Northern Lights tour! The guide was knowledgeable and knew all the best spots for viewing. The van was comfortable as we traveled north of Alta. At each stop, we had plenty of time for photos and to learn about the lights as well as Alta in general. At one stop, we enjoyed hot chocolate and pastries. It was very cold, but the van was available for those that did not want to stay outside as long as others. I highly recommend this tour for people who prefer a small group and a flexible schedule.

  This review is more about the company and customer service. First, know that our event was canceled by the vendor well in advance of the start time. We believe the event was canceled due to the reported very low probability on this night. And so, we appreciate that this vendor was forthright and honest about the success of the event, and canceled the event rather than take our money and drive around for 4 hours with no intention of success.

  The guide went out of his way to help us see the northern lights, and was patient and informative. Despite weather being poor, he kept looking for new areas where the sky was clear and eventually we were rewarded with a great spectacle. Also noted that despite cancellations he took the 2 of us out when he could have cancelled, we are very grateful to him.

• Successful search for the Northern Lights, but NOT a minibus tour.

  We took this tour instead of our cruise ship’s shore excursion because this tour went searching for the Northern Lights instead of going to just one place. It turned out to be a brilliant decision because it was a cloudy night, so our bus driver drove us far up the coast to where the sky was clearer and we got to see a nice display of the Northern Lights. We heard later that those who went on the ship’s shore excursion didn’t see the Lights because the place they were at had heavy cloud cover. The reason for only 4 stars was that although it was billed as a small group tour on a Minibus with a max of 16 people, it turned out to be a large group tour on a big bus with about 60 people. The bus driver, who was also the tour guide, didn’t seem to be experienced with big groups because when he spoke (while driving), only the people in the first 5 rows could hear him. When we arrived at our destination, we received little guidance or direction or information like where the bathrooms, if any, were.
