Prostur was amazing at finding the Northern Lights! This was our second trip to Iceland and third attempt to see the Northern Lights. The day looked gloomy and we thought the tour would be cancelled again. The tour company usually makes the go no go decision by 6:30pm, but they asked if we would be willing to wait a little bit longer so we agreed to wait until 8pm. At 7:45 pm we got a message that they would pick us up at 9:30pm and thought they might be able to find some lights. Might was an understatement! We were barely an hour away from the hotel when prostur pulled over and declared he found something. Prostur is a meteriologist and very knowledgeable about the stars and how the northern lights form. The night sky was full of stars and beautiful northern lights, every time we turned around looking at the sky all that we could say was Wow. He told us that only 20% of the tours had our experience. We were very grateful and in awe of the beauty. It was cold and windy but his hot chocolate and donut were a perfect snack to warm us up. We really had two terrific experiences, seeing amazing Northern Lights and getting an education about the start and the movement of the solar system to create the Lights. Great guide and a great tour

Sven was a wonderful guide. Great sense of humor and also explained the science behind the Northern Lights visual display. Best of all, he found a place where we could see the Northern Lights. Thanks, Sven

Prostur was a great guide. He was on time. He communicated well. He explained what he was doing and why. He worked hard to get us to a place where we might see the lights as it was a very cloudy and fast moving cloud evening. He had stories to tell. He pulled out a telescope to view the starts while we waited. Overall a great experience. He also offered to help us with advice if we wanted to try ourselves another night. When he has an opening on another bus tour he offered for us to take that space but we already had other plans for that day. What a super great guide.

Þröstur was the best guide. He was on time and easy to speak with. He did his best to give us a great view despite the cloud cover we had to navigate around. He had fun stories and made sure everyone was having a good time. While waiting for the northern lights he set up a telescope to view the night sky. He was full of information and stayed out longer to make sure we saw what a night show, The hot chocolate and Icelandic treat was sweet too!

My family loved this tour! The guide was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. The photos he took turned out amazing. I would highly recommend this company. We had to reschedule twice due to cloud cover and he was very accommodating

We booked a trip with HappyWorld Iceland on Thursday 10th October. I was reluctant to go with this group as for a family of 4 it was quite expensive. Let me tell you it was truly value for money. We were promptly picked up from the hotel and met another group at the Perlan Natural History museum, where we saw the faintest of lights. We then travelled in convoy to 'the middle of nowhere' and stood in a field in the pitch black near to a disused, derelict building. The guides informed us there was activity in the sky and we should wait. Within 20 minutes, the night came alive. What a wonderful experience. The guides were knowledgeable, took many fantastic photos of the group, and were patient. Trust in them. They know what they're doing. Dress warm, it was really cold, some of the group returned to the vehicles earlier but we stayed out and took the opportunity to have many family photos taken. We all agree it was the highlight of our 10-day holiday

Wonderful experience! They picked us up directly from our hotel and we drove about an hour or so to the spot they thought best for the conditions. There was some cloud cover at first, but we saw some beautiful lights! After a bit it cleared up but the lights were gone. We stuck around a bit and had some hot chocolate and the lights appears again, this time dancing across the sky!!!! They took as many photos as you wanted with their camera (sent via email the following day) and walked you through settings to capture them correctly on your phone! Be aware that you see mostly green and lights to the naked eye, but on the cameras, even your phone's camera with the right settings, they are full of colors! We spent well over an hour viewing the lights until they disappeared again and even got to see a few Icelandic horses! It was great to be able to warm up in the vehicle as needed too! Highly recommend!

Like many people coming to Icleand in the winter we had a hope to see the Northern Lights- this tour was very well done communication was excellent and whilst we were indeed fortunate to have seen the lights it would honnestly have been a great experience without them as seeing the stars in such clarity was a revelation. Our guide (Ástþór ) made a huge effort to make sure we saw the lights and was extremely knowledgeable about them and the solar system. He also was very patient in taking photos of everyone which were later emailed to us - as others have said you do not usually see the colours of the lights in the same way with your naked eyes as you see with a camera but he gave us the best opportunities to see them for which we were very thankful.

I cannot say enough excellent things about this company and its staff. Communication was beyond expectations. I was not receiving emails from the third party I booked through so I contacted Happyworld directly. I always received a prompt and helpful reply that included all the information. I spoke to one man so much I asked his name so I could mention him in the review--Þröstur, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP. I didn't realize you owned the company, lol Our guide Sara was amazing. She was so personable and had so much knowledge and we learned so much. As it was a small group (ended up basically a private group with just three of us), Sara made sure we had the best chances to see the Northern Lights by taking us to different locations and checking with Þröstur who had all the meteorology maps. The photos she took were also just wonderful. I would not hesitate to book another tour with Happyworld and will be recommending them to friends who also have Icelandic vacations planned.

Private tour definitely worth the extra money and we would highly recommend Happyworld. All communications were clear and timely. Lots of information about what to wear, what to expect and why the Northern Lights are so elusive! We had an email on the day to confirm the tour was going ahead and why this decision had been made e.g. weather and likelihood of seeing the lights. Our tour guide, Haukr (sorry if that's spelt wrong!), was very knowledgeable and explained about why the Northern Lights are so difficult to predict and how to see these with the naked eye - for those who don't know, you need a camera to see the full extent of the lights. Haukr took us to a few different locations to try and see the lights, continually checking his phone for up to date cloud coverage and weather information. He used his own camera to check for the lights and was quick to take photos and direct us when the lights appeared. The hot chocolate was a yummy and a well needed treat after standing out in -8 degree weather! Thank you Happyworld for a great experience.
