  Our guide had a clear love of the Aurora and his ability to judge where they would pop up was uncanny! Things that made this tour stand out: 1) We set off earlier than other tours and in doing so, caught an early display which was the best of the night 2) We were a small group so there was the opportunity to get to know each other 3) We cooked locally produced reindeer sausages over a campfire! 4) our guide was a talented aurora photographer and was able to take great pictures for our group including family pictures 5) We were all dropped at our individual hotels at the end of the night This was a really well organised and managed trip. We really enjoyed our experience! Tips: bring foot warming pouches. Layer up! Be prepared to use nature's toilet when you're out in the wild.

  We highly recommend Northern Horizon for your Northern Lights adventure, not just because our experience was awesome, but because Harry is extremely good at hunting the lights. Harry was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, and he told us from the beginning what to expect for the duration of the tour. He was very clear in explaining each of his decision points to stop or move along at various locations when he was searching for the best sky. We made a stop, where he checked the sky and pointed out some interesting things about the stars and planets, and then he made timely decisions to not wait too long for a potential appearance of the Northern Lights. He explained the tools he was using to predict the best place to see the stars. We ultimately drove about 2.5 hours into Lapland, Finland at the border with Sweden. He invited us all to get off the bus to check the stars with him there, and within minutes, the most amazing Northern Lights began to appear, and then dance in the sky. The colors and the dancing lights were amazing, and we thought we were done, but then we drove a short distance to set up a fire pit to grill reindeer sausages. While gathered around the fire, more traditional Northern Lights appeared in the sky as Harry was explaining the science behind the lights. Harry also took wonderful pictures for each of the families with his own professional camera, which he shared for free, so that we all could simply enjoy the light show. Our driver was smooth and safe for the duration of our 4-5 hours of driving, and our experience of seeing the Northern Lights far exceeded our expectations. We expected to see nothing and instead saw the most amazing lights. When we asked our kids which excursion they most enjoyed on our trip to Tromso, we thought they’d say dog sledding because we all loved that experience; instead, each one of our four kids said the Northern Lights tour was the best. While we know the aurora are not always active, if they are, Northern Horizon gives you the best chance of seeing them. They are skilled at finding the lights, and they are a great team to be with. We most highly recommend Northern Horizon for your Northern Lights adventure!

  We did the Northern Lights hunting trip with Northern Horizon and it was just amazing. Our guide, Harry, made the experience perfect from the get-go. His knowledge, passion and good energy made a difference: he took us to the best points, explained everything in detail and made sure we could all enjoy the phenomenon in the best conditions. We could see spectacular auroras, in a beautiful natural environment, and also Harry took professional photos that were a wonderful memory of the trip. The organization of the company was impeccable, very punctual and attentive at all times. I recommend this excursion 100%. It's an experience we'll never forget. Thank you Northern Horizon and thank you Harry for a magical night!

  The whole experience has been amazing! Our guide Max is truly passionate about aurora, and he drove us close to the Finnish border and then up to the coast in Tromso to find the best spot for the Aurora. We managed to see it, even if the weather was not the best. I will definitely recommend this tour!

  Harry and Dominic were brilliant. Two greats guys passionate about what they do and willing to go above and beyond throughout the night. Great knowledge of all things related to the northern lights and just two gentlemen in general.   It was a fantastic tour from start to finish. We were very lucky and only had to drive for about 50 minutes. The spot was on a fjord surrounded by mountains, so it was gorgeous. Our guide Harry was really passionate about what he does, and the reindeer sausage was definitely worth trying. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. See you next time!

  Amazing tour, Max was very knowledgeable and kind, ready for any questions and photos! Despite the almost full moon, we had an amazing northern light dance!! We drove I believe to Skardsfjorden (1h30 from Tromsø), where the view was amazing, so were the auroras!! We had a great camp moment around a fire! Having a tour with Nothern Horizon and Max was fully worth every second, I fully recommend and if I have the chance to do it again, I 100% would do it again with them!

  We traveled to Norway from the US for the sole purpose of seeing the Northern Lights, so there was a lot riding on this tour. From the get-go, Harry (our guide) gave us confidence that we'd see the lights, and he did not disappoint. We witnessed them dancing across the sky over and over again. Words can't really capture the experience. The closest I can come is to say that it was phenomenal, magical, and surreal. Both Harry and our driver (whose name I've sadly forgotten) were incredibly kind and attentive, and there were so many special touches. We actually did another (larger bus) tour the following night, so I can make a direct comparison. While that tour was also wonderful, it can't hold a candle to the more intimate, high-touch experience we had with Northern Horizon. The biggest difference was the location. With Northern Horizon, we were in a quiet, secluded spot full of trees and protected from the wind. We even felt comfortable lying down in the snow to look at the sky. With the larger tour, we were literally on the side of a busy road. The display was still beautiful, but it was disrupted at times by headlights and it lacked the serenity of our first experience. I honestly cannot recommend the Northern Lights tour with Northern Horizon highly enough. It was an unforgettable experience.
