What To Expect

Pick up at your hotel, travel by minibuss to our office in Ivalo. You will get warm thermal clothes and shoes, then head on to the small village of Koppelo, far from the city lights. Take a seat in your sleigh and travel deeper into the wilderness with your local guide. Comfortable snowmobile-pulled sleigh is covered by warming reindeer hide and you can enjoy the ride to the frozen lakeside. In the lake we will take a break in the silent beauty of the wilderness. If you are lucky, you might see the Northern Lights in the famous Lake Inari. Owners of this small local family company lives on an island and you will visit there. Your guide is a local person so you will get glimpse of local lifestyle with local people in this tour outside of the touristic areas. In the island you can relax with hot blackberry juice by open fire and see if you are lucky enought to see the Northern Lights. Guide will prepare delicious dinner in lappish teepee. Dinner will be made of local fish or reindeer. You will also have possibility to meet and feed our friendly reindeers.

The whole experience was magical right from the sleigh ride, to having the guide create a magical experience of viewing the Northern lights. The experience didn't end there and we were treated to warm food in an authentic setting supplemented by visiting reindeer. Special shout out to providing good food for vegetarians. Will definitely recommend this.

Incroyable We loved it Time was with us, we saw many Northern Lights. Our guide was really nice. The succulent food, we were able to discover the soup of Rennes. And finally we gave food to young Rennes. The cold suits on loan were very good. It was 28c on Lake Inari. We highly recommend

Beautiful experience, aurora borealis at the rendezvous and mild weather. We were very lucky and were able to take beautiful photos.
Nice excursion in the evening looking for the northern lights but you can't order them unfortunately...

The excursion was very nice! Also because it was in the evening. We stood on Lake Inari for a long time to admire the northern lights but we were unlucky... However, it was a nice ride and dinner in the tippi was also a very nice experience.

The tour was very very nice and well done. That day we couldn’t see the Northern Lights because of clouds, but it doesn’t detract from the quality of the tour.

The Northern Lights tour to Lake Inari from Ivalo with Viator was a fantastic experience! Although the weather didn’t cooperate, the guides went above and beyond to make the trip memorable by taking us to visit reindeer and enjoying a delicious dinner by the lake. Highly recommended for a well-organized and enjoyable adventure!

Maksim is a lovely and kind guide who took care of our group of 8 very well. We received proper warm clothing, shoes and gloves and off we went to Lake Inari on a snowmobile safari which was a fabulous experience. Dinner was provided in a local island hut with fire and hot drinks, after feeding the reindeers. After dinner the polar lights magically appeared on the sky and delivered an unforgettable show which we won’t forget anytime soon Thanks for the beautiful memories, we felt well looked after by Maksim, highly recommended, regardless of the steep price point, it’s worth it!
