• A fantastic day in the northern Rhone

  We departed from central Lyon for a 45 minute journey down the Rhone and into an extraordinary wine region. We started at a winery in the Côte Rotie AOC where we toured the facility and tasted through several delicious white wines, including Condrieu and then several reds, highlighted by two Côte Rotie. This was followed by a detour to a small 14th century village and then into a fun lunch in Condrieu. Our final winery stop included a vineyard tour and tasting of 6 fabulous wines expressing a different wine making style than the first stop. Our guide Eddy was very knowledgable of the area, the wineries, the winemakers and wine in general. He made it all very special.

  Eddie was a wonderful guide! He taught us so much about the regional wines, and about wine tasting in general. He even took us to see the medieval town of Maleval. It was a perfect excursion into the beautiful wine country south of Lyon

  This is the best wine tour we have ever been to, and we’ve been to many in Europe, South Africa and New Zealand. Kim is the best guide with great knowledge, very pedagogical and also a safe driver! The trip was designed in the best way, we could not have asked for more.

  Eddy is the reason this tour is so special... Not only is he a wine expert, but he is so much fun to be around!! It doesn't matter matter how many tasting tours you've been on, you will love the access to exclusive French wines, the insight Eddy provides, and views along the way!!

  This tour was one of those amazing experiences where you get everything you were hoping for, then more. The wine was, of course, incredible. Our surprise sampling of Cote Roties allowed me to try wine that would have never been in my budget back in the US -- and then purchase a few bottles without needing to take out a second mortgage (the amount I saved on the wine purcahse actually paid for the tour when considering the prices difference between France and the US). There was a lot of "perfects" on the tour: the prefect length of time at both wineries; the perfect amount of wine sampled; the perfect views of the Rhone Valley; the perfect lunch at a surprise bistro -- and the perfect host embodied by the charming and affable Eddie. A quick note to anyone thinking of taking this tour, but nervous that their wine knowledge won't be enough: take the tour, what you don't know, you will gently learn. The tour is an introduction to Rhone wines, not a master-class. You're going to have a good time and drink good wines in good company ... and isn't that what wine's supposed to be about?

  Loved the tour! The Rhône Trip team was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Julie, Kim, and Margot made every stop a truly sensorial experience. The restaurant/cava for lunch was also an excellent choice to discover local dishes and wines. My palate has definitely been refined when it comes to Rhône wines after this tour.   Wow, what an amazing day. We’ve done many wine tours (in France and California) and this was a top one. It went beyond my expectations with the amount of tastings we got (two wineries, one place having 4 glasses and one place 7!), the scenery, the information, the machine demonstrations at wineries, the photo ops, and the perfect French settings and culture come to life. It felt like being in a movie. Plus, lunch (not included) was at a delicious restaurant where you couldn’t leave hungry. Kim, the tour guide was outstanding in knowledge and kindness.   The tour was what I had expected. The guide is very knowledgeable and share with us info about each vineyard in Northern Rhone. Wine tasting was good and the restaurant the guide suggested was really good!

  Eddy was very knowledgeable and seemed to know everyone in the Rhone valley. We loved the wine (bought a case to ship home) and the countryside was beautiful.
