What To Expect
The painting class is designed for anyone interested in exploring abstract-style painting using palette knives, welcoming both beginners and novice painters. This 1.5-hour course will teach an appreciation for nontraditional painting techniques and is divided into four parts: Introduction (10 minutes) Brief self-introduction and discussion on abstract/non-representational art. Overview of the materials to be used during the session. Demonstration (10 minutes) A concise, step-by-step demonstration on how to start your abstract painting. The use of acrylic or water-based paints, chosen for their quick drying properties, ensures the activity progresses smoothly. Production Time (60 minutes) First 10 minutes: Participants will set up their canvases and practice using palette knives to get comfortable with the tools. Remaining 50 minutes: Hands-on painting session where participants create their own abstract artworks while the instructor provides individual feedback and guidance. Wrap-Up (10 minutes) Conclude the session with time for cleaning up materials and reflecting on the art-making experience. NOTE: You will receive a free poster after completing the session.

5.00I had such a wonderful experience taking an abstract painting class with Lee. He is incredibly talented, but what really stood out to me was how patient and genuinely caring he is as a teacher. He has a way of making you feel completely at ease, no matter your skill level, and he gives thoughtful, encouraging guidance without ever being intimidating. Lee creates an environment that feels both inspiring and supportive, which made it easy to relax and really enjoy the creative process. His studio is also warm, inviting, and thoughtfully set up in a way that makes you want to stay and paint for hours. I left the class feeling energized, more confident, and excited to keep painting. I can’t recommend Lee highly enough.

I appreciate you, Ligel! I think this would be a great thing to do for a birthday or special occasion. Such a relaxing, fun experience!

5.00Ligel was an incredibly attentive painting instructor, and the class made for a fantastic birthday outing. I had such a great time and really appreciated the combination of guidance with the freedom of abstract expression. You rarely find many guided yet freeform abstract painting classes, and while it can be fun to know exactly what you are painting, Ligel’s approach to teaching is even more enjoyable. I left with a piece I’m proud of that now hangs on my wall.

5.00My husband and I booked this as a date activity. Ligel is an incredible instructor. He's patient, gives clear instructions, and makes the entire experience enjoyable. The space was fantastic to move around in and be creative. We love our art and the time spent making it. The layering technique was super fun and cool. We highly recommend trying this. You get a poster as a take away gift which are stunning and personalized art pieces by Ligel. Can't wait to hang them in our home!

5.00Ligel was our teacher for the evening and he was just so easy and inspiring, even though painting/drawing aren’t naturally comfortable creative spaces for me. I really enjoyed the playfulness of the process and how freeform it was. Such a perfect entry to creating in that medium and I left wanting to explore that side of myself more. Playing and creating feed the soul, and their benefits can’t be understated and Ligel offers the perfect vibe for both of these things. I highly recommend his class.

5.00Ligel was an absolutely amazing teacher very educated and so much talent we learnt so much and had the best time I think it was our best day in NYC so much that we will be taking up painting in our spare time so thank you Ligel for the new hobby.

5.00Say Yes to painting with pallet knives . What a delightful 90 minutes. We read the title, we weren’t sure what painting with pallet knives included. It was very fun, and edutaining! I can’t say enough about Ligel, our painting coach. He is a wealth of information. I took my Granddaughter, as a graduation gift to New York. Before traveling, I researched painting classes, and found this great class. We walked away with a very fun piece of artwork and learned so much about layering paint and using the knives and there were many types of knives, not simply one or two . Obviously, we would recommend Ligel and his class. It’s a blast.
