This 3km tour along AlUla’s Oasis Heritage Trail is a fabulous way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Oasis while learning about its important role in AlUla’s history. The tour starts with typical AlUla hospitality – dates, dried fruits and coffee – and an introduction to the Oasis by your expert guide. You’ll then be led along the scenic trail, parts shaded under towering date palms, other sections opening to sunny clearings with stunningly verdant panoramas. You’ll pass farmlands restored to their former splendour, growing the fruit and vegetables that end up in the kitchens of farm-to-table restaurants.

Our guided tour of the AlUla oasis with Faiz was exceptional. Faiz is not only a guide, he is a talented storyteller. Throughout the walk, he transported us into the past with precision and sensitivity, helping us imagine how people once lived in the desert. His descriptions of traditions, daily life, and relationships between communities and nature were vivid and engaging. One of the strongest moments was when Faiz explained the central importance of water in the desert. By listening to him, one begins to understand how every detail of life was organized around this scarce and precious resource. The contrast with our modern habits became obvious. Realizing how fragile and essential water is makes this experience more than a simple visit. It becomes a reflection on what we often take for granted. Thanks to Faiz, the tour was not just informative. It was memorable, emotional, and deeply human. We left the oasis with a new appreciation for its history and for the value of water, which is synonymous with life. Highly recommended.
