The day trip to Ohrid was a beautiful escape from Skopje. Our driver Miki was right on time and picked us up at the hotel and brought us to Ohrid. We drove through the mountains which were snow capped and leaves that are changing color. Half way to Ohrid, Miki brought us to a place that served a delicious fried dough and yogurt breakfast. Once in Ohrid, Noumka was our local guide who showed us around her town. She was so happy and proud to show us her town. She shared local customs and traditions all while showing us places such as the amphitheater, view of the town and lake from the fort, and of course a visit to the monastery of St. John. After all of the walking we had a nice lunch by the lake. The lake side town was a nice retreat from the city. The total time was about 9 hours but well worth it.

We really loved this visit, +++. A taxi "Miki" picked us up at our hotel to take us to Ohrid where we met our French guide "Naumka". Firstly, the place is beautiful, it is worth a visit. Secondly, we were well accompanied, the taxi "Miki" is kind, helpful, caring and available, he knows his country well and he even offered to show us around the Monastery of Saint Naum after our visit to Ohrid, for an extra charge. If we have to return to Macedonia, we will call on him. Thirdly, our French guide Naumka, she is polyglot and she is one of the few who speaks French, we were lucky enough, she understands it and speaks it well. And even if sometimes she searches for her words, she tells us in Italian Spanish or English and we translate it to her. It was a pleasant visit, very interesting, we learned a lot about Ohrid's story and his anecdotes, it delighted us. "Naumka" even offered us, for an extra charge, a boat tour. I highly recommend her for her kindness and availability, you will not regret it, a visit in French, it is really nice and for sharing her knowledge about this city.

I took a full day tour from Skopje to Lake Ohrid. I was picked up at 8:00 AM from my hotel in a private car. I had Christian as a driver and he was great. It took us about 3 hours to reach Ohrid, on our way we stoped in a local bakery to try a speciality fried bread which was delicious. Christian spoke good english and was very careful driver. Once we reach Lake Ohrid, my guide Ivana was waiting for us. We started the tour immediately, and our first stop was the print shop which make its own paper and used the old Gutenberg printer. After that we walked to the old town stopped at the Greco-Roman amphitheatre, then to the beautiful Byzantine Church of Virgin Mary with its incredible Frescos, then to the Ohrid castle with the its views of the beautiful lake , from the castle we walked down to Gem Church of St. John which is built of a rock cliff overlooking the lake. Ivan also arranged for me a private tour on the lake on a catamaran boat (paid separately, extra) which give you a view of the old town from the lake. After the tour I went for lunch at a local restaurant recommend by Ivana which is away from the crowded area and is on the water and their speciality is the tourt fish from the lake and the river. After lunch I had a stroll on the pedestrian area of the old town for sometime, and then connected again with my driver Christian for the drive back to Skopje which we reached it around 6:30 PM. Many thanks to my wonderful guide Ivana who was so proud of her town and was such an excellent guide and a companion for the three hours we were together. Also thanks for my driver Christian.

We visited Ohrid on New Year’s Eve so the town was busy and full of atmosphere. The sun was shining all day and we got amazing photos of the lake and town. Our driver Miki stopped off halfway through the drive to give us Mekitsa with some amazing cheese. Our guide in Ohrid was Filip, who knew the local area extremely well and took some great photos for us. Would highlight recommend this trip!

Really enjoyed our time in Ohrid. It's beautiful and worth the trip from Skopje. The guide was great and very knowledgeable. Would recommend going when it isn't too hot as the tour can be brutal otherwise!

This day trip was a great way to see another part of North Macedonia. The transport was comfortable & the driver was safe & considerate. The guide in Ohrid city (Ivana) was exceptional. She spoke English very well & took me to all the spots I wanted to visit & was happy to tailor the visit to my wishes. She was very knowledgeable, informative & engaging. I would thoroughly recommend a trip to Ohrid. There are other interesting sites around the lake so I would recommend staying overnight & doing more on a second day.

Professional set-up with great communication. Our driver Miki was great, answered questions and played music for the roughly three hour drive. He stopped and provided us with a local snack on the way. Ohrid was incredibly beautiful. The local guide Martina took us around to several churches, the fort at the top of the hill, and a boat ride on the lake. We then had two hours of free time, which we used to go swimming, before meeting up with Miki and heading back to Skopje. Highly recommend!

We have never had such a perfect and personal tour! Our generous tour guide, Zlatko, was completely accommodating to our needs. He shone with his in-depth knowledge and was able to tell us many interesting facts about Ohrid and the lake. Ohrid is a beautiful city with many historic buildings. We were even able to take a short boat trip (about 10 minutes) and enjoy the view of the city from the lake. Lunch in the restaurant right on the lake, which Zlatko recommended to us, was delicious. We were even able to enjoy this wonderful place for an extra hour after he asked us if we had any other plans for the evening. The tour was worth every euro and we can recommend it without reservation!
