We recommend either little or no breakfast. After that we will take you to the busy streets of Old Delhi.Old Delhi was founded by Mughal emperor Shahjahan, in 1639 and till date its essence of Mughal Empire can be found on its streets. Our first stop would be chawri bazaar. Located in the heart of Old Delhi, this place is known for its street food and the variety found in Indian cuisine. Our food Tour will start with variety ranging from samosa, kachori, chaat, dosa, dahibhalla to Badaam milk, Lassi or buttermilk. These offers typical Indian taste, although not at all hot spicy. Samosa is originally from Somalia, but since 11th Century it became part of India. Samosa is stuffed with fried potatoes and covered with wheat powder. Lassi is a healthy drink and it comes with different flavour.

We had a fantastic time on this food tour in Delhi! Our guide was knowledgeable and gave us some really interesting historical context about the area, which added so much to the experience. The food was absolutely delicious—so many different flavours and dishes to try. A great way to explore the city through its food. Highly recommend!

Bhanu is a perfect tour guide. He knows all the secret places and showed me 1000 things to eat and let me taste. No Dehli Belli - it was a wonderful day! Bhanu was a very accommodating guide and took good care of me. Highly recommended!

Sunil picked up our group of three at our hotel in a comfortable small van. We then drove to Old Delhi. Since it was not quite noon, the market initially was pretty quiet. We stopped for a stewed, mashed, chick pea dish simply prepared by a man sitting beside the road. I was a bit nervous to try it, but we asked for it without fresh ingredients like onion, tomato, and cilantro which are usually mixed in and without sauce, out of an abundance of caution. It was presented on newspaper and a leaf and was quite tasty and would be a very filling dish. We walked through some of the alley ways and Sunil explained a bit about the old families and buildings there. We next stopped at a paratha place and we had three different parathas - lentil, potato and cashew. We sat in the small place and the paratha were served with a metal tray of sauces, some quite spicy. All the paratha were good - cashew was my favorite and quite different than the others. We wandered through to the spice market. The guide took us to a place that sold spices in commercially sealed packets. They obviously cost more but we felt more comfortable bringing those back home. Masala tea was a favorite drink during my trip to India. We had a delicious version, served traditionally in unglazed clay cups. Finally, we had some pakora and jalebi, eaten with alternating bites for sweet and savory together as encouraged by our guide. I preferred the pakora as I find most Indian sweets to be very sugary. It was a good experience and I would recommend it.

While visiting India, I went on a tour with new friends I had just met and Sunil was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and in addition to taking us to some amazing food shops, he showed us some great shopping places as well. Sunil spoke about the history of places throughout and made it a very personable experience. Highly recommend him as your tour guide and would love to do more tours with him in the future. Bahut dhanyavaad ji!

It was a great experience because the tour allowed you to go to restaurants and street food sellers you never would have attended being on your own. Being collected by a driver at your hotel was also very convenient. You got also a very good impression of Old Delhi.

We had a wonderful introduction to Delhi street food on our first evening there. Had we not booked the tour I don’t think we would have tried half of the food that we were given. The atmosphere of the streets were amazing, noise, colour, smells of cooking food. I personally would not have liked to have tried to have done this tour on my own so having a guide was essential. Our guide was really friendly, gave us interesting facts and constantly kept up safe.
