My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Uncle J! He’s very knowledgeable and fun. He held our attention for the entire tour. If we make our way back to San Juan, we’ll definitely book with him again.

This was an amazing adventure. Uncle J as the locals call him is an excellent guide. There is a lot of walking, but it is well worth it. Make sure you bring water, wear a hat, and use sunscreen. A+++++++ all the way.

We had a fantastic time with uncle J! Very informative about the castles/ fortresses, history of the country, and even a dinner place to try after the tour. The tour was about 10 people, perfect to still be engaged with uncle J. Fun atmosphere, very educational. We were able see these beautiful parts of history as well as really understand their significance. Length of tour was perfect 2-3 hours.

Why see one castle when you can see two? Uncle Jay was so awesome, he felt like family by the end of the tour. He's so knowledgeable and has a passion for the history. If you're a history buff, or just want to get a timeline of the defense of san juan and puerto rico, Tio J is the only guide to go with!

Uncle J is a real character and has no shortage of stories. Highly recommend his walk as you get to see the best views at both castles and hear his take on the history going back to when it was first built as a Spanish fort up until its use during the Second World War. Highly authentic experience.

If you are easily offended and entitled this is not for you. This is a group walking tour that is scheduled. Uncle J is a realist who has many interesting stories and a very personal history to Puerto Rico. Uncle J is not a yeller so you will have to be close and intimate to maybe hear him. I like the fact that this tour is very personable. There are a lot of tours in San Juan that serve 20,30,40 groups , this tour allows you to feel relaxed and get all the information you need. He’s very transparent and will answer all the questions you may have for him for the best of my ability. My feet were aching before from walking all across Old San Juan ,but being on this walking tour made me forget all about my aches and pains.

Uncle J was a very entertaining tour guide while also providing a history of old San Juan. I also appreciated that he walked us through Old San Juan to highlight some of the sights and get us back to where the tour started. Highly recommend this tour!

This was my first stop for my Puerto Rico trip, and the tour was great!!!! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, VERY FUNNY, and keeps it real the whole time. You’re in for a treat! You get to see amazing castles, hear some history, and laugh at jokes the whole time. I’d highly recommend this tastefully handsome, charming soldier.
