This semi-private half-day tour from the port of Katakolon will take you to ancient Olympia, the playground of the Gods and heroes of Greek mythology where the Olympic flame is lit for each Olympiad.
This blessed land is home to one of the finest agricultural produces in the country , the olive oil. Discover the products of the olive tree, the symbol of immortality and wisdom on a free olive oil experience at a local market.
Then, go off-the-beaten-path into a farm filled with fruit trees and vegetables and find Greek hospitality. Learn all about the circle of life of the bees by a local beekeeper and taste local delicacies accompanied with local artisan's honey.
Finally, you may spend some time at the town of Katakolon for shopping and lunch by the seafront.

What To Expect
Klio's Honey Farm
After the guided tour at the Olympic site, enjoy a culinary experience. You will visit a local cottage and meet a beekeeper. Enjoy the stories of the local artisan with a glass of coffee or juice and try her homemade sweets and products under the shade of the chestnut trees. Important note: There are no beehives at the honey cottage to protect people and children with allergies
After the guided tour at the Olympic site, enjoy a culinary experience. Visit a local indoors flea market where one of its sections is entirely dedicated to local products. Sample among a great variety of olives, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and other local delicacies.

1.00They never took us to the honey farm. Instead we went to the museum, that we had to pay for out of pocket. They changed the whole tour, without giving us the option to not go and get a refund. Was supposed to be a small tour, but was a bus with 30 people. Be cautious with this company. We did speak with the instructor, they offered us a 30.00 refund for 2 people as they were complaining that they didn’t make any money on the tour.
It was only Expensive transportation to these locations. It almost felt like bait and switch.

2.00This tour was booked as a honey, farm and olive oil and a tour of the Olympic site. We were disappointed that when we got to the honey farm there was an additional charge of €10 each and when we got to the Olympic site, there was a charge of €20 per person or we could sit in a coffee shop and do nothing! Very disappointed with the description compared to what Reality was !

4.00We booked this tour to experience the site of the original Olympic Games, and it didn’t disappoint. Our certified guide at Olympia was outstanding — deeply knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the history and ongoing restoration of the grounds. Walking through the birthplace of the Games and learning its rich history was truly special. After our visit, we stopped at Klio’s Honey Farm, a small family-run business where we enjoyed an authentic, warm welcome and tasted some truly quality products — a lovely experience. The olive oil tasting, on the other hand, felt more like a tourist trap. Most of our group seemed eager to wrap it up and return to the ship. That said, the family-owned tour company running this experience deserves credit. Our guide took great pride in her work, and the luxury transportation — a spotless, air-conditioned Mercedes van — made the day comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a well-organized group experience with excellent transportation and a friendly, knowledgeable team, this tour delivers. If you prefer a more customized, private experience, you might consider hiring an independent local guide instead.

5.00Terrific shore excursions!! Elena was very informative. Our tour of the archeological excavation was fantastic. Pacing was also very good. Our tour in the local market was excellent. We tasted different kinds of olive oil, honey, olives, spices and also tried different lotions, creams and other products made from olive oil. The experience at Klio’s honey farm was a highlight. Tasted quince jam and honey from the farm and enjoyed traditional Greek welcome and hospitality. Will highly recommend!! 5/5!!!!

5.00It was such a great way to experience all the things Olympia has to offer. The stop at Klios Honey Farm was one of our favorite parts of the whole trip. We constantly bring it up how enjoyable and wholesome it was, and not to mention the honey was the best i’ve ever had! Seeing the ruins of the original Olympic games was really cool. There’s so much history and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. The Olive oil was more of a tasting then visiting a farm, I would’ve like to stop at a farm but i still really enjoyed trying all the oils and balsamic, I can’t wait to receive them in the mail. Overall, i definitely recommend this tour if you’re going to Olympia. It was more on the laid back style which we loved and also needed at this point of our journey! Everyone we met was fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly!
