Embark on a journey to the heart of Oman with a visit to Wahiba Sands, one of the country’s most breathtaking deserts. Meet friendly Bedouin families, learn about their unique way of life, and enjoy a traditional welcome with homemade Omani coffee and sweet dates.
In front of the Bedouin house, you’ll also find camels—if you’d like to try a short camel ride, it's available for just 3 OMR per person, payable directly to the locals.
Continue your adventure to the serene oasis of Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most iconic wadis. A gentle walk takes you to stunning emerald-green pools, framed by dramatic cliffs and lush palm trees—perfect for a swim or a peaceful break surrounded by nature.
Please note that this tour does not include extreme dune bashing.
You are free to choose whether you would like to visit Wadi Bani Khalid first or start with the Wahiba Sands Desert—just let us know your preference.

Please note that dune bashing is not included in our service. It is not provided with our vehicle. If you're interested, you can book the dune bashing experience directly with the camp, using their designated 4x4 vehicles.

What To Expect
Muscat Governorate
Pick-up will be from your hotel or any location within the Muscat area. From there, it’s approximately a 2-hour drive to Wadi Bani Khalid.
Wadi Bani Khalid
We then continue our journey to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most stunning wadis in Oman. The total visit, including driving time, will be around 3 hours. This impressive wadi features towering canyon walls and breathtaking crystal-clear pools, making it a sight to behold. You can relax and enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool freshwater, sunbathe by the pools, or simply soak in the serene surroundings. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore deeper into the wadi or even visit its hidden caves. There’s also an option to enjoy lunch at a local Omani restaurant nearby. Note: If you prefer not to swim, you’re welcome to relax by the first pools, where the water is shallow and easily accessible. We recommend bringing: Sun protection & a hat Good walking shoes Swimwear, extra clothes & a towel Snacks and water Swimwear Guidelines: Ladies are kindly requested to wear shorts (covering the knees) and a t-shirt when swimming in Wadi Bani Khalid.

5.00Our day at Wahiba Sands with Muneer was the absolute highlight of our trip to Oman! He struck the perfect balance between adrenaline, sandboarding (our 1st time experience) well worth it !!! and quad biking (the best ever, compared to other countries), and authentic culture. Visiting the Bedouin house to sample Arabic dates and traditional coffee was such a special touch. Muneer is incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a fascinating, easy-to-follow history lesson that we truly enjoyed. Most importantly, he never rushed us and went above and beyond to keep us comfortable (and well-fed with snacks!). If you want a guide who is kind, professional, and genuinely cares about your experience, Muneer is your man!!! P.S if you are lucky enough to have Muneer as your guide ask him to take you are karak chai ☕️
Happy day to explore Oman a bit more, definitely it deserve it!

5.00It was a wonderful day full of experiences: visiting an oasis and a Bedouin house, riding camels, swimming in a canyon, and walking in the dunes, followed by watching the sunset in the desert. Overall, the trip was well organized, with clear communication, a comfortable vehicle, and good roads in Oman region. The program is quite fulfilled for one day, and full of emotions and great impressions. A very helpful and supportive guide — special thanks to Fauzi for the drive, the music on the way back, the photos, and for creating such a great one-day experience.

5.00We spent memorable day with Ghusun. He is funny but he treated us with so much respect like we were his guests, not tourists visiting Oman. He showed us beautiful Omani landscapes and the highlight of the day trip was the sunset in the Wahiba sand dunes. Ghusun is really skilled at driving in the dunes and we had so much fun dune bashing with him. While driving back to Muscat, we discussed life, religion and future expectations in our lives. When he left, it felt like I was leaving a friend behind in Oman. Thanks heaps brother Ghusun

5.00Ahmed was a fantastic tour guide and the perfect example of Omani hospitality. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an authentic Omani experience. The entire tour was catered to our preferences and we were lucky enough to see the sunset over the Wahiba sand dunes as per Ahmed’s recommendation.

We really enjoyed his company and his sense of humour kept us entertained all day. We are happy to have booked our day tour with Oman sharing tours adventure.

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Sunshine Tours for our Wahiba Desert ride. Everything was very well organized from start to finish. The transfer from the meeting point was smooth, and the 4×4 drive into the desert was thrilling yet felt very safe. Our driver Fawzi was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the desert. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the ride and took us to some beautiful spots for photos. The dune bashing was exciting and fun, and the views of the desert were absolutely stunning.
