My wife and I have been on many tours in many countries. We’ve always chosen tours having highest ratings, so this tour is no exception. However, upon having it finished, we can say with certainty that this tour is among the best tours we’ve ever been on, if not the best one. The group travels in a bus with both a tour guide who speaks Japanese and very little English and a translator who speaks fluent English. Both are very knowledgeable and informative. Everyone gets the map of the village and very detailed instructions on how to spend your time (what to visit, what to buy, where to go, etc.) the amount of which is more than enough for a comfortable sightseeing. Both places offer beautiful scenery, gorgeous views, and Very unique experience, especially Shirakawa-go which is a real gem. The lunch served in between the visits of the two villages was one of the best of all that we had on any of the previous tours. This tour is a must for those visiting Kanazawa and having an extra day. To summarize: very well deserved five stars!

I loved this tour! The itinerary was perfectly planned with plenty of time to explore and take pictures at each destination. We even had a traditional lunch where we got to sit on the floor and try local cuisines. I highly recommend visiting these beautiful places and seeing the gorgeous scenery.

Even if they do not know about Shirakawa—go and Gokayama, the guide (in our case, Mr Kuroda) gives a thorough history so you enjoy it on matter what your knowledge level is.
