The tour was great. The bus was very comfortable and the seats had lots of leg room. The tour guide gave us lots of useful information about where we were going and he also helped us research a restaurant for latter in the day and made the booking for us. The lunch was fabulous and way better than I had expected. It was a traditional Japanese meal with lots of different components and condiments. I would highly recommend this one day tour.

Very succinct and quick explanations of the history and geography of the 2 villages. No offer of accompaniment in the streets of villages. Very limited and untasteful lunch.

Good idea to join a tour to save your time and effort in getting parking space / bus seat to the two remote villages and arrange your lunch - definitely recommended for high seasons. Essentially self-guided in the villages though the guide will brief you in the ride up front. Both villages are small so self-guiding was not an issue to us. Be prepared for the long bus rides despite rest stop is provided. Also check with the guide on the toilet locations in case you may need it during the visit. The villages can be very overcrowded during high seasons and putting pressure on everything including long traffic line, parking space chaos, long queue for toilet or food etc.

The guides are amazing! One of the best tours I had in english while in Japan. During the bus trip you will ear lots of facts about the places you are passing by. Besides shirikawa go (which is crowded with tourists), the second village is empty of people and beautyfull. Very worth this trip that covers both villages. Also the meal was very good and inside a traditional restaurant of shirikawa-go. Totally recommend this tour.

Amazing tour! I'm definitely recommending this to others! Here, you can experience two world heritage villages! Not many know of Gokayama, so you will most likely be alone in the last village. Thank you so much for the experience. Our tour guides were excellent!
