The Maiko will perform two traditional dances (10 minutes total), followed by a Q&A, photo time, and a chance to play a traditional Japanese game.
IMPORTANT: Maiko performances are intentionally short to preserve the tradition, so she will not perform continuously for one hour.
If you prefer a show held inside a traditional tea house, please check our other Maiko experiences. This show takes place in a showhouse, not a tea house—please review the photos before booking.

This experience was amazing! Getting to witness the beauty and poise of our Meiko Fukuyumi in person was unbelievable. I got to ask questions, take photos/videos, and even play a game against her (which she said I was a great opponent!). Ai was our tour guide and she was wonderful, so kind and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this experience enough!

We enjoyed our time learning about geiko and maiko. The amount of time to watch 2 dances as well as get some Q&A was great as well. We did enjoy the performances as well

The experience was truly amazing. I felt so close real Japanese traditions. The insights you get on the training and history of Geikos in the Kyoto area is so amazing. You get to experience all this in a very intimate setting, being part of a small group. You learn about tradional dances, clothing and you even get to play games against the Geiko and take pictures with her. The whole session was hosted by Ai, who’s English was perfect and she took good care of our group. This activity is my clear recommendation, when you stay in Kyoto!

We thought the Miko was great to see, and her performance was good to see. It was hard to hear the speaking over the noise of the AC unit, and they really should invest in some ambient mics so allow guests to hear better. I also didn’t like the way they asked guests to submit a review on the spot in exchange for a “gift”.

The kids really liked this experience especially the Q&A and the game. The parents would have liked a little more history of the geisha’s and while Maiko’s are rare, there was something odd/uncomfortable about seeing a younger girl perform. The host seemed fairly green as well. But kids were happy!
