An exceptional experience of breathtaking scenery, beautiful encounters with a Berber shepherd, a family who lives in a cave house, and the Sahara ♥️

Experience to do, we learn a lot about the history of Tunisia. Hot water sources are to be made! Our driver Mourad gave us lots of little information during the journey. Houssein, our guide was an incredible kindness. A very good team, it was great. And a thank you to Habib for organizing this stay. 👍

It was a very nice experience in the desert and seeing some old villages. However it's also very touristic and you sleep in a big camp with lots of tents. Unfortunately we didn't see a lot of stars because of the full moon. We visited the desert in September and it was still very hot also during the night. We didn't need any jacket during the night. The food was very good. However there wasn't really a vegetarian option even if we declared this during the booking. We needed to tell it at every meal so that they could find some vegetarian options. In the end they were very flexible and we had a lot of good things to eat.

Memories full of head and eyes, an unforgettable break both by the discovery but by the beautiful people we met during these 2 days of crossing in 4x4 through the desert. Mokhtar our driving hero, Zizou rating guide always ready to share his knowledge and answer our questions. A shocking duo, which helped make this stay magical. 2 beautiful people smiling, generous, and always with laughter and smile on their lips. A group of 6 people in total c great, we were like friends. Quality services, Bedouin tent accommodation in the middle of the desert (very original) and meals dance bread making, swimming in hot springs and visiting sites...

My dad and I joined the overnight desert trip from Djerba with Boubaker. I think we agreed that this was the highlight of our whole trip to Tunisia. It was magic to see the terrain change to desert. The stops in the Amazigh towns were very cool as well. Boubaker provided great historical context for us. He and our driver Walid were both kind and engaging and were happy to answer questions we had during the drive. It was a small group in the car, and we had a lot of great conversations over the course of the trip. Arriving in the desert, we were able to swim in the oasis before a quad ride, and the campfire before dinner was very special, with music, dancing, and a demonstration and tasting of sand bread. Waking up early for the camel ride is definitely worth it. I'd recommend that anyone visiting the resorts of Djerba leave the island just for a night to experience the Sahara - especially with this tour.

I had an amazing experience on my recent trip to Tataouine, Chenini, Ksar Ghilane, and Matmata, and I want to express my sincere appreciation to your team especially to Mr. Boubaker, our tour guide, and Mr. Abdennour, our driver. Mr. Boubaker was knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of each destination. He made the journey engaging and insightful. Mr. Abdennour was an excellent driver, professional, punctual, and always ensured our comfort and safety throughout the trip. As for the tour itself: Tataouine & Chenini: 10/10 – Stunning scenery and rich Berber heritage. A true cultural gem. Ksar Ghilane: 9/10 – A magical desert oasis. The camel ride and hot spring were unforgettable. Matmata: 9/10 – Fascinating troglodyte houses. A unique experience. Food choice: 9/10 – Delicious local cuisine, especially the couscous, brika and fresh baguette! Accommodation & Transport: 10/10 – Comfortable and well-organized. Overall Experience: 10/10 – A beautifully curated trip that exceeded my expectations. Thank you for an unforgettable journey. I highly recommend this tour and team to anyone looking to explore the beauty and heritage of southern Tunisia.

We were lucky enough to experience a truly unique adventure in the Sahara Desert with Depart Travel Service, and everything was simply magical! From the moment the tour began, we knew we were in for something special — and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Boubaker, also known as Zizou. Zizou wasn’t just a guide — he was the heart and soul of the trip! With a big smile, endless energy, and deep knowledge of the region, he made us feel safe, excited, and completely immersed in the experience. He shared stories, Bedouin traditions, and insights into desert life that you won’t find in any travel book. The night under the stars was absolutely unforgettable. We sat around the fire, enjoyed traditional music, delicious food, and a rare sense of peace that only the Sahara can offer. If you’re planning to visit Tunisia, don’t miss this excursion! And make sure to ask for Zizou — he will stay in your memory forever. A man with heart, humor, and a true passion for what he does.

Fatouma was a great tour guide and spoke English well. She had good expertise of the local area. Ali, our driver, was great and quite knowledgable on the ways of the Bedoin people. Both were very enthusiastic and we had a lot of fun on the trip. It seemed like the spots we were hitting were quite touristy, but overall a good experience visiting Tunisia for the first time. Were able to sample the local cuisine and see how nomadic people live/used to live in rural regions. Also a stunning drive on the second day - cruising through mountian passes and desert on well paved roads was enjoyable. Overnight stay at Ksar Ghilane - oasis with a tourist venue setup. Comfortable tent. Option to hire quad bikes or camel ride into dunes at sunset/sunrise (for additional cost). We enjoyed the camel trip as a novelty experience. Would not recommend swimming in the themal pools at the oasis. Water quality probably worse than the Thames. I'd day this was the only negative aspect for the otherwise amazing trip. Safety wise, although UK govt does not recommend travel to some areas of the south, we felt completey at ease for our safety for the entire trip. All the locals are lovely people and were very accomodating to us Brits speaking with broken French! As we were in a land cruiser (passengers total), it felt like we could visit the attractions at our own pace to a degree. We didn't feel rushed to get back in the car to get to the next attarction. Overall, a very fun excursion which made it a great introduction as our first trip to Tunisia. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone travelling to the country for the first time!
