Owner Operator - Your guide Steve is a Kununurra local for over 17 years and takes pride in giving you the best experience possible.
With only 4 passengers on a 5.3m boat we can travel into lagoons and creek systems other boats cant get into and with uninterupted views you get to see it all.
We can tailor the tour to your specific needs - each tour is different and we can lengthen or shorten the tour depending on the time you have.
Want to spend time photographing scenrey or bird life? Silent Tours understands your interests specialising in bird and nature watching as well as capturing the stunning scenery. Silent Tours boat can quickly fold the canopy down for a 360 degree view.
Just want to see the sights or perhaps go for a swim? Perhaps you see something interesting on the river. No problem, we can adapt the boat tour for you and any curiosity.

What To Expect
Ord River
Experience Ord River sights and sounds with your guide who specialises in gradual and tranquil tours. Being a small tour of up to 4 passengers we can cater to your needs from stealthy bird photography to heading up to the upper Ord for a look at Carlton Gorge or going for a swim at one of the many swimming spots. Depending on the time of year and day you may see Ospreys, Egrets, Jesus birds (Comb-Crested Jacarnas), King Fishers, White bellied Sea-Eagles, Blue wing Kookaburras, Ord River Turtles, Crocs, Water Monitors and many more.
Elephant Rock
Elephant Rock - also known as sleeping Buddha and Thethebeleng in the local Miriwoong language, has a unique rock art gallery. There is the option to disembark and walk 3-4 minutes to see the rock art at this location. See the beautiful gum trees. We continue on to Emu Creek to a side of Sleeping Budha not many get to to watch the light conditions of the rising sun illuminate the sandstone rock. There is so much bird life in the small waterways. Binoculars are on board for use and be sure to bring your camera!

5.00A wonderful way to explore the Ord River, with moments of exquisite peace juxtaposed with breath-taking scenery. Steve's depth of knowledge and love of the region shone through, and we were cared for with a fabulous locally grown morning tea. I'm keen to see the Ord in all seasons, and we were well looked after on this stunning wet season tour, with waterfalls in full flow.

5.00Steve was an excellent tour guide and did and awesome job of showing us around and telling us about the surrounding land and nature. Thentour was a good length and took us to some amazing locations with excellent photos. The highlight for me was definitely getting to swim at the swimming spot near the waterfall. I will definitely be coming back to do more tours the mext time I am visting the area

5.00Awesome half day trip on the water seeing world class scenery and wildlife. Steve is very knowledgeable and his boat is zippy and comfortable. Steve had better eyesight than the eagles I reckon, as he pointed out so many cool things along the way. Steve was also happy to tailor the experience too. Electric auxiliary outboard motor was excellent for bird watching and listening.
Looking for a personal tour or birding trip for just 2 or 3 people this is the one for you!

5.00In August I had the most amazing time on one of Steve's (Silent Tours) dawn Ord River Wildlife cruises. Fantastic experience. Steve's knowledge of all things to do with the river and its birds and animals was very much appreciated. He was so patient and helpful with my dad who has mobility issues, and with me with all my bird questions. His boat is so quiet we could sneak up on many birds that are usually hard to photograph, and he knew all the best bird and rock wallaby hiding places 🙂 Billy tea and muffins were a great highlight and we enjoyed our time so much we booked Steve for one of his 4 x 4 trips the following week. 5 stars for professionalism, knowledge, safety and locating birds and animals. We will be back for sure next time we are in the area, can't recommend him enough.

5.00Our trip up the Ord River was a peaceful, uplifting experience. Steve was a knowledgeable guide and was able to identify numerous birds, spot black tailed wallabies resting in a cave on a cliff face and point out various geological structures. We were able to venture up beautiful creeks inaccessible to larger boats. We would thoroughly recommend Silent Tours for visitors seeking to commune with nature and witness the magnificent colours of the Kimberly.
