5.00We took part in an organic cooking class in Sigiriya with Kumara and his family, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the very start. We cooked together as a group, and the class was hands-on, engaging, and full of interesting insights into Sri Lankan cuisine. Kumara showed us how many of the ingredients came directly from the family’s garden, grown with care and attention. Learning about these local products added a special depth to the experience, and you could truly taste the freshness in every dish. The meal we prepared was absolutely delicious, and we were also given a generous collection of recipes to try at home. On top of everything, Kumara was incredibly funny and entertaining, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We wholeheartedly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting the area. It’s a chance to meet genuine people, discover amazing flavors, and take home a piece of Sri Lankan culinary culture.

5.00We had a fantastic time learning to cook a variety of Sri Lankan dishes with Kumara and his family. We learned about the Ayurvedic benefits of the different ingredients and the different cooking techniques. It was a lot of fun and the food was delicious! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

5.00We had the best time cooking with Kumara and Thanuja! First some useful information in the garden about the plants and the spices and after we started cooking. They explained everything very well and we made delicious food! Some nice herbal tea with it and the experience was complete :-)

5.00Fabulous course. We had great fun, learnt so much and shared a delicious meal. This is fully authentic and organic. Amazing knowledge of the spices and herbs was shared and Kumara sent us a PDf of the recipes so we can make at home. There are many courses to choose from but if you are looking for an authentic experience do this one.

5.00This was such an incredibly fun day. It exceeded all of our expectations. This family is so knowledgeable, kind, and patient, and they explain everything very well. We cooked together with the group and were allowed to do a lot ourselves. Afterwards, we ate the food we made, and it was delicious. We went home with a lovely little gift. All in all, an amazing experience!!

5.00Such an amazing experience. Kumara and Thanuja were so welcoming. We loved everything that this family are doing and we take our hats off to all their hard work. Everything is home grown and organic. Kumara showed us their garden and taught us all about the different spices. The food was delicious and cooking it together was great fun! Thank you so much.

5.00You are very well received by the super friendly family. You start with a short tour of the Ayurvedic garden and then you get started with all their organic products. You will make a deliciously extensive meal and can test different cooking techniques. At the end you get 2 fantastic souvenirs. The family is super enthusiastic and authentic! We think it is highly recommended! It was everything we expect from it!

5.00Everything was perfect. We got an insight into rural life in Sri Lanka and got to know Kumara and his family. The family is very attentive, cooking traditional Sri Lankan food together and for us to enjoy. We were given a wooden spoon as a gift to take home with us. Thank you for this wonderful experience, we would come back anytime!
