We don’t just show you Osaka, we help you live it. While most tours stick to the neon-lit main roads, your professional veteran guides take you deep into the backstreets of Uranamba. We’ve traded rigid scripts for real stories and tourist traps for local legends.
We have a simple philosophy: small groups create big memories. With a maximum of 9 guests, the vibe is relaxed, the conversations are real, and the experience is personal. You aren’t being "guided" by a lecturer, you’re being welcomed by a local friend. From the history of Osaka Soul Food to the secrets of Japan's subcultures, we share the soul of the city we love.
We prioritize genuine connection and a deep respect for Japan’s culture, ensuring you leave with more than just a full stomach. Join us for a night of world-class food and even better stories, and see why Osaka is a place you’ll never forget. Come hungry, leave happy.

Tommy had a great grasp on local culture and gave me a better insight to the community. I was recommended by a friend and now, any friend who goes to Osaka will be recommended in the same way. What a wonderful time and tour!

We had the BEST time on our Osaka foodie tour with Tommy! From start to finish, it was an absolute highlight of our trip. Tommy brought so much energy and humour to the night — his stories had us laughing constantly, and we loved hearing his perspective on Japan through an Aussie lens. It made everything feel so relatable and engaging. He also took the time to explain things we would have completely missed on our own (like how to actually use vending machines properly!), which added a whole extra layer to the experience. And the food… WOW. The street food was incredible — so many delicious stops we never would have found ourselves. If you’re in Osaka, do yourself a favour and book this tour. We had so much fun and can’t recommend it highly enough!

We loved our experience with Shoko. She was personable and passionate about food. She also grew up in Osaka, so her knowledge is quite fast. Our 3 hours went by very fast. We would highly recommend this tour and guide.

Tommy was a phenomenal guide on this food tour. He put down roots in Japan several years ago and has clearly built great relationships with local vendors around Osaka—many of them know him personally—which made the whole experience feel incredibly authentic. Our group size was perfect with only 12 people, so it felt intimate without being crowded. Tommy took us around Shinsekai and we stopped at about 6–7 different spots for bites, full dishes, and plenty of sours along the way. I had some of the best udon and takoyaki Osaka has to offer. Even the dishes I took pictures of and still can’t pronounce were phenomenal. I highly recommend trying the tomato sour (go for the jumbo!). I would absolutely book this food tour again with Tommy.

Take this tour if you want great food, amazing cultural insights, variety, hidden gems, historical context, tons of laughs and an overall unforgettable experience. Tommy knows everyone. It’s like taking a tour with the Mayor of Osaka. The pace was excellent and we really enjoyed being introduced to all the people we visited at stops and along the way. It helped make a quick and comfortable connection. The people are very proud and friendly in Osaka and this came through with both Tommy and everyone we met along the tour. An additional advantage is that Tommy is Australian but is married to a local woman and has been in Osaka for sometime now. This helped in being able to clearly explain a lot of interesting cultural observations in a way that we could easily relate with. We have been on tours around the world and we can’t wait to come back and take another tour, or two with Tommy. What an absolute blast!!

If you are a foodie like me try this tour. Tommy organized a grand tour of backstreet local food in Osaka telling us what we ate after tasting. Had several dishes I would probably not habe tried without his guidance. Try the experience and find out for yourself. Definitely not as crowded as the day tour, only locals eating at the places we ate. I enjoyed the off the beaten path feel. Looked forward to every new experience. We had plenty of time at each eatery without feeling rushed. Nothing fancy at any of the diners all about the food. If you are a foodie or into culture emerging try this tour with Tommy.
