The Oslo Beer and Culture Walk blends history, flavour, and local life — beginning with a full Norwegian dinner:
• Enjoy a hearty meal in one of Oslo’s oldest restaurants — choose fish, meat, or lighter options, paired with Ringnes Pilsner or Frydenlund IPA.
• Visit a historic tavern steeped in polar exploration — surrounded by maritime memorabilia, taste two distinctive aquavits while hearing tales of Amundsen, Nansen, and Arctic adventures.
• Discover Scandinavia’s largest craft beer bar — boasting 65+ taps, where you’ll sample a full tasting flight of Norwegian beers, guided by your host and a local beer specialist.
Between venues, enjoy a cultural walk through Oslo’s story — from Viking history and polar heroes to the rebirth of Aker Brygge and the rise of modern beer culture.

Nobel Peace Center
Your guide greets the group outside the Nobel Peace Centre before leading you towards the waterfront. There, you step into a storied tavern whose walls once echoed with the plans of polar icons such as Roald Amundsen and Fridtjof Nansen. Surrounded by maritime memorabilia, you raise a modest pour of akevitt—Norway’s herb-infused national spirit—and learn how it fuelled countless Arctic expeditions.
Karl Johans Gate
A gentle walk winds through the civic heart of Oslo to a time-honoured local pub loved by generations of residents. Settle in for a traditional Skagen sandwich (open-faced sandwich) of seasonal Norwegian ingredients; if seafood is not your preference, your guide will arrange an equally enjoyable alternative. The meal is paired with a typical Norwegian draught beer.
Sit down with a beer specialist
Start your evening with a proper sit-down meal, choosing freely from the menu. Whether you prefer fish, meat, or lighter options, you’ll enjoy a hearty Norwegian dinner.

I was so excited to see there was a beer and dinner tour available in Oslo. I joined my husband on a business trip so have been solo for the days and some dinners. So to have the.chance to grab dinner and beer with others sounded great. Little do I know how amazing the experience was with Shaf leading this tour. He shared his amazing knowledge of Oslo, Norway and the culture all along the way, which is an added bonus. We had a delicious dinner, followed by an aperitif drink at this amazing local bar with so much history see. The aperitif drink was to help our digestion before we went beer tasting. Then we went to Roor the best craft brew house in town. 60 taps available to choose from. And we were not left to fend for ourselves and pick our usual favorites, no we had Joe the fantastic beer expert who took us on a tasting journey like no other. I would highly recommend this brewery and this tour. 5 stars in my book.

A perfectly balanced blend of Norwegian cultural exposure packaged with good old fashioned pub hopping! Shaf (our tour guide) definitely has his finger on the pulse of Oslo’s local hideouts much more than some of the tour guides you get with those “bigger” conglomerates who farm out services to less-than-knowledgeable operators. Shaf is punctual, easy to talk to, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all the things Oslo has to offer. We left the tour feeling like we made some new friends and that we got to see some of Oslo’s secrets that are usually reserved only for the locals. Thanks, Shaf!

We had a great dinner, followed by aperitif and beer tasting that cooed of an incredible night, the beer tasting had the added benefit of Isak at Roor, who shared his undeniable knowledge of beer and custom tailored our tasting to our pallet. Overall a 5 star experience!

This was a wonderful tour, incorporating delicious food, great drinks and a fabulous tour guide, Shaf. It was just my husband and myself on the tour that night, so it was a bonus. Shaf was so knowledgeable about the history of Oslo and Norway We enjoyed listening to information and stories that he shared, as we walked along the city streets. He engaged us in conversation and also made an effort to learn about our beer preferences, which led to a great flight of beers at our last stop on the tour. We enjoyed our time at the restaurant, bar and brewery very much. This tour and our time with Shaf was a highlight of our trip!

The walk to dinner was relaxed and educational. I felt learning about the beer was a window into the history and geography of Norway. The highlight of the tour was a curated beer tasting that challenged what I thought I liked and didn’t like about certain types of beer. I would definitely recommend this tour.

OMG. If you want to see and hear things about Oslo that you’d not have seen/found out about, then this is a tour for you. This is not a trip for beers and getting drunk, it’s a tour for beers and enjoying a conversation. There is an important difference there… please take note. If you’re interested in the latter, it is so worth it. Excellent value for money as the cost includes the food and drink. So worth it.

Our guide was an excellent leader on our adventures around Oslo! He shared the history of the buildings we passed, as well as some of the history of the City and the different foods we ate. He was very knowledgeable about beer as well, and although I am not particularly fond of beer, I enjoyed EVERY sip of the beverages chosen to suit us! This was a fabulous tour!! (forgive my memory but I believe our Guide was "Shem" or something close to that - apologies for any errors)

We went to 3 unique places and all of them different in their own way and brought a special view of Oslo. We had 5 total people on the tour which was fantastic and made it easy to ask questions and feel included. The first pub we had a sandwich as mentioned, which is a full meal and a great way to start. The final bar, Roor, we were greeted by one of the owners who talked us through the 4 very different beers we were trying and explained in detail why they were selected and why they were unique to Norway. I've been on other tours in other countries and typically you try pilsners and lagers, but here we had sours, stouts, and everything else along with explanations of how they came about in Norway and it was fantastic. Highly recommend if looking for good places to drink around Oslo.
