The Oslo Beer and Culture Walk blends history, flavour, and local life — beginning with a full Norwegian dinner:
• Enjoy a hearty meal in one of Oslo’s oldest restaurants — choose fish, meat, or lighter options, paired with Ringnes Pilsner or Frydenlund IPA.
• Visit a historic tavern steeped in polar exploration — surrounded by maritime memorabilia, taste two distinctive aquavits while hearing tales of Amundsen, Nansen, and Arctic adventures.
• Discover Scandinavia’s largest craft beer bar — boasting 65+ taps, where you’ll sample a full tasting flight of Norwegian beers, guided by your host and a local beer specialist.
Between venues, enjoy a cultural walk through Oslo’s story — from Viking history and polar heroes to the rebirth of Aker Brygge and the rise of modern beer culture.

Nobel Peace Center
Your guide greets the group outside the Nobel Peace Centre before leading you towards the waterfront. There, you step into a storied tavern whose walls once echoed with the plans of polar icons such as Roald Amundsen and Fridtjof Nansen. Surrounded by maritime memorabilia, you raise a modest pour of akevitt—Norway’s herb-infused national spirit—and learn how it fuelled countless Arctic expeditions.
Karl Johans Gate
A gentle walk winds through the civic heart of Oslo to a time-honoured local pub loved by generations of residents. Settle in for a traditional Skagen sandwich (open-faced sandwich) of seasonal Norwegian ingredients; if seafood is not your preference, your guide will arrange an equally enjoyable alternative. The meal is paired with a typical Norwegian draught beer.

Our guide was an excellent leader on our adventures around Oslo! He shared the history of the buildings we passed, as well as some of the history of the City and the different foods we ate. He was very knowledgeable about beer as well, and although I am not particularly fond of beer, I enjoyed EVERY sip of the beverages chosen to suit us! This was a fabulous tour!! (forgive my memory but I believe our Guide was "Shem" or something close to that - apologies for any errors)

We went to 3 unique places and all of them different in their own way and brought a special view of Oslo. We had 5 total people on the tour which was fantastic and made it easy to ask questions and feel included. The first pub we had a sandwich as mentioned, which is a full meal and a great way to start. The final bar, Roor, we were greeted by one of the owners who talked us through the 4 very different beers we were trying and explained in detail why they were selected and why they were unique to Norway. I've been on other tours in other countries and typically you try pilsners and lagers, but here we had sours, stouts, and everything else along with explanations of how they came about in Norway and it was fantastic. Highly recommend if looking for good places to drink around Oslo.

We had such a great time. Ivan was a wonderful guide, and each place he took us to was unique and special. What was the most remarkable was the beer sampling we did at Roor. We sampled 4 different Norwegian beers as the co-owner of Roor gave us in depth explanations of the beers ingredients and brewing process. This was by far the best and most in-depth beer tasting I have ever done!
