This wasn't a spur-of-the moment trip - I've been trying to do this for over ten years!!! Our wonderful guide, Hassan, picked us up and drove us into the mountains. We're here to ski ...but first we eat! Amazigh (Berber) breakfast of fresh bread with local butter, olive oil, eggs, a wonderful soup, and of course, mint tea. All prepared over an outdoor fire by a local family. After a short drive we arrive at Oukaimeden. Vendors line the road selling everything from prayer rugs to geodes to hats, scarves, key rings and even coffee & tea from well-equipped machines in the back of their caravans. Equipment rental shacks are everywhere along the road: skis, boards, boots, goggles, gloves, everything! And now? Get ready to ski! ... but .... the lifts aren't running... Amazigh ingenuity steps in: Berber mountain mules take us up. Following a 15-minute ride with breathtaking scenery above the clouds, we dismount, thank our mules and their handlers and head out on 3cm of fresh snow. We were lucky to have a bluebird sky and plenty of snow in the majestic High Atlas mountains, making for an incredible adventure. Windblown hardpack and ice under the new snow make for a challenge, but we managed a series of fresh-track figure eights to prove we were here. A couple of runs and it's time to head back to Marrakesh. But first we eat... a Berber lunch hosted by the same family. We enjoy beef tajine with local potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, cauliflower, homemade bread and mint tea! Sharing fun winks and laughter with the children makes this even more special. One more treat awaits us as Hassan stops for local berries - found only in this region - and we happily snack on our return to the city. The experience was incredible, but what made it extra special was the kindness and sincerity of Hassan and all the people with whom we interacted. This day is one for the ages - exceeding expectations all around. When asked if we enjoyed it, my partner answered, "One of the best days of my life." I agree.

Excellent day in the mountains- we had breakfast and late lunch at a local home, and enjoyed skiing at the resort during the day.

The journey itself is breathtaking. You wind through the High Atlas Mountains, passing traditional Berber villages that cling to the hillsides. Once you arrive at the resort (which sits at about 2,600m), the panoramic views are stunning—especially if you take the chairlift up to the 3,258m summit. They were so professional and the food was amazing.

This was amazing in terms of experience, Hassan and Rafiq our guide and driver where super reassuring and thoughtful. We had an amazing breakfast and a tajine made by a local woman for us. She was super welcoming. Too bad I didn’t speak Berber to thank her properly. The ski lift are broken in the resort and are to be fixed sometimes in the near future. So we had to climb up a bit to ski but it didn’t take out the joy of this all day trip which was exactly what I was looking for. I loved it!

An amazing experience! We started with a special Moroccan lunch with mountain views then arrived at the resort, the experience was extraordinary with a super patient monitor. The experience ended with an excellent Moroccan tagine!! Rafiq and Lahcen were exceptional guides, like a family! Between the laughter, the discovery and experience, everything was perfect I recommend 100% with my eyes closed
