Even with clouds the hike and views are great. They have horses available if you are not a good hiker or need help. Really fun and amazing views.

The experience was very good and without any problems. It's definitely worth it. In fact, the track is a little pulled, but this gives much more to the pace than to the journey itself. I understand that in order to be able to complete the route in time you need to have a faster pace and so the track ends up being more pulled than it really is.

Great trip from Antigua. Everything went smoothly, and both guides (Carlos and Freddy) did a great job of keeping the group motivated on the hike. Plenty of stops along the way, with stunning views.

Would recommend - pick up and journey was smooth, local guides were excellent and took timely breaks so that the group could walk together. Drop off was at the central park, though I think you could ask for another drop off point.

Was pleased with this experience. Both guides were excellent and highly recommend. They were kind, curated group rest spots to helps those who needed to catch their breath. The horseman were abit pushy to rent horses for the tour, however within reason as halfway through the hike several peoples did arrange to finish the hike with a horse to get to the top. Several horses were following right behind us. A little demeaning when you are feeling winded getting up to the top. The route we went up was hard. I am active and hike regularly so I was fine, however it is a challenge. We experienced a lot of traffic coming from Antigua. I’d like to see this tour start earlier to avoid the AM rush traffic and to finish the hike before the heat of day begins. The walk down didn’t have shade compared to the hike up and it was warm.

Well, worth it for the views. The hike was a little bit more strenuous than we expected especially with the altitude, but the view from the top is amazing. the toasting marshmallows make extra fun for my young adult kids. Pick up and drop off went smoothly. And our guide Carlos was eligible and very friendly.

My husband and I did the Pacaya volcano trip from our hotel in Antigua. We love hiking volcanoes and did the Santa Ana volcano trip in El Salvador.. We were picked up as scheduled at 0620 am at the hotel. Beforehand we got a message on WhatsApp with the information we needed. The bus was already full and we set off to the volcano. The bus ride took approximately 1 h and 20 min. We stopped and met our guide and bought the tickets and could go to the restroom before setting off. The hike to the highest point took 1 h with two small stops. It was steep all the way so bring lots of water. On the top we took pictures and stayed for 20 min. Then we walked for 10-15 min down to the cold lava area and had barbecued marshmallows. After that we took another route down where the bus waited. That took about 1 h. It was amazing to see the hard lava from the last eruption in 2021 up close. The only thing to complain about was the poor English skills of the guide and the bus driver. We assessed the details directly to the team. We can recommend this hike for sure.
