We had a fantastic experience getting our open water certification, me and two of my ids (14 and 12) at Tulamben with instructor I Made Sutama. He was a great teacher, super attentive and relaxed. Helped us calmly though tricky moments with the exercises and was fantastic with the kids. Put them at ease. Also organised snorkelling at the USAT Liberty for my youngest (10yo) who was too nervous to do the open water course we had booked for him, and really looked after him too. And then persuaded him out on a Padi diving experience on our last day, so he got to dive too, and I Made held his hand and looked out for him throughout that too. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

My family and I dived at the USAT liberty wreck, coral garden and the drop off at Tulamben. Diving with Bali Diving Academy made our experience an enjoyable and memorable one! Bali Diving Academy was extremely responsive and this made communication and planning for the trip easy. They were helpful in providing information and arranging for the logistics of the trip. The staff at BDA Tulamben, Ni Luh, Made and Putu were welcoming and patient. They explained the administrative details thoroughly and patiently. Instructor Made and divemaster Putu are very experienced. They ensured the safety of all divers and made the dive even more interesting by spotting and pointing out various marine life. Instructor Made explained the theory of the diving course well and demonstrated practical skills with clarity. Overall, great experience diving and taking the course with Bali Diving Academy. Highly recommended to anyone considering to dive in Bali!

I did my PADI Open Water course with Bali Diving Academy in Tulamben, my instructor Made was a super lovely Balinese who has patiently and professionally guided me every single steps possible to build my confidence (I'm new to diving to begin with!) and made me enjoy the dives whilst as feeling safe and protected. He was very chill, fun and supportive, and I was allowed to do the techniques at my pace. I heard that BDA only does small class of 4 people which is great. Actually, I was lucky to get an one-on-one course as there weren't any other students in my time slots. Moreover, I think Tulamben was a great site for beginners like me as you literally just walked into the sea and dived to the sites. Water was clear, warm and there was no current during the weekend I went (Sept 2022). For beginners, there are fewer things to worry about compared to dive in the middle of the sea. There aren't a lot going on in Tulamben and I believe people travel there mainly for diving purpose. I dived at the Coral Garden which was truly fascinating - huge amount of aquatic lives and of course corals. The USAT Liberty wreck was very cool to see and much bigger than I thought. I had a lot of fun doing the course and would not hesitate to recommend Bali Diving School Tulamben to all my friends and family!
