Valencia is the birthplace of the world-famous paella - from the market to your plate, learn step-by-step how to make this traditional dish!
First, your local guide will take you to visit Mercado Central de Valencia - Europe's largest food market. Here, you'll buy your fresh ingredients. For evening tours and tours on Sunday, the Central Market is closed so we will skip this step and go straight to the cooking!
You’ll then go to the paella kitchen for a live paella workshop with a professional chef. Follow along step-by-step at your own cooking station and learn the local tips and tricks of what makes this dish so special.
After the class, sit back and enjoy some local tapas, wine and, of course, your very own paella.
Your paella cooking class Valencia finishes with a sweet treat before returning to the meeting point accompanied by the guide.

This day was the perfect blend of history, culture, incredible food, and meaningful connection. The team at Sea Saffron did such a beautiful job guiding us through Old Town Valencia, sharing the city’s rich history in a way that felt engaging and alive. From there, we headed into the kitchen where the experience truly came to life—sipping wine, learning to cook authentic paella, and sharing a meal with people from all over the world. There was something so special about breaking bread together, laughing, and connecting across cultures. If you’re visiting Valencia, this is an absolute must. Delicious food, great wine, and an experience that stays with you long after it ends 🥘🍷☀️

Wonderful experience whilst in Valencia! Good value for money and high quality. Did the evening excursion and learned how to cook a Valencian paella and sample local wines. Also sampled a couple of aperitivos and a postre. Lovely hosts and people also doing the experience with us. A very enjoyable evening.

We had an amazing time on this tour!! Daniel was a great guide, and took us through Cuitat Vella before going into the market. The paella turned out delicious, and we would highly recommend this booking.

Great experience. So informative. Completely hands on. You make your own paella from scratch, with the chef pointing out common mistakes and how to avoid them as you go. Small group so easy to ask questions and for the chef to get around to everyone. Lovely community setting to eat all together afterwards with wine flowing.

Reyes is fantastic! She is friendly, knowledgeable, and made an effort to get to know each us personally. I loved how she explained everything in so much detail so that we not only cooked our paella, but understood the importance of each step. The paella turned out tasting delicious. I also really appreciated and enjoyed how much interesting information Reyes gave us as we walked through the area to the market place. She then gave us a lot of information about the market and about the final ingredients she needed to purchase for the paella. Overall, Reyes made this event so much fun. This was the highlight of my trip to Spain.

Fully recommend!! Megan and Luna were fantastic. We got a great mix of history, culture and market shopping, and the cooking part was really fun and fully hands on. We had a group of 11. For anyone worried about this size of class, honestly it worked really well, because there were plenty of people to chat to while waiting for our socarrat to set and around the table when it was all done. Delicious wines and tapas to keep you going throughout also. Thanks for a lovely morning!

Great fun. I did this tour last year and simply had to do again with another group of friends. A quick guided tour from the meeting point to the central market, then a short walk to the venue. Hidden on a small street: extremely well organised. A quick apero to get to know each other followed by the best fun ever cooking our own paella. Finally, day finishes with eating the paella. The activity also includes wine tasting of a cava, a white wine and a red wine plus a local fortified one. Was impressed that there was also non alcoholic cava and wine on offer too. Very generous hosts (Victor and Luna); accommodating, patient, and enthusiastic. A must for sure.
